Is there a way that you could create a "Way to go" award with only an African American student? Male and Female if you have the access to it? I teach in a very urban area, with a school that is 100% African American. Thanks!

Hi Tia,

I'll try to work on that over the next few weeks and add it in to the item. When it's updated, you'll receive notification that the item has been revised and you'll be able to download it again with the new changes.

Thanks,

Hi :)

Everything we upload onto TPT has to be in PDF format due to copyright regulations, particularly for clipart. I'd be happy to send you a blank editable graph to your email address, but please know I've made this document in Pages which is a Mac application. If you don't have Pages, it might not be of help to you. Feel free to send me your email address if you'd like a blank graph.

My idea is to have each student choose an animal in the sea and do a report. I teach second grade and could give you some more info if you are interested in doing a packet. Hi Cindy,

Thank you for your feedback and question. We are in the middle of some district testing windows and other projects, so I'm not sure I'd be able to take this on in a timeframe that would work for you since you're currently working on it. If you're interested in a different format, I do have a 3-page template called "My Animal Report" in my TPT store. Do you think something like that would work for your students?

I'm getting ready to purchase this to post in my classroom and I'm wondering if you could recommend the best at home printing method? White cardstock? I just have a regular printer. I know that Office Depot or Staples will do some printing but I'm not sure if they are able to enlarge or print this for me differently? Thanks for any and all suggestions! :)

Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
If you want to keep it as an 8 1/2 x 11 reference sheet for students, you can just print it from your printer and give them each a copy for their writing notebooks. Or, you can take a digital copy (or literally your computer) to an Office Depot or Staples and ask them to enlarge it to poster size, if desired. In my school district, the central printing office makes posters for teachers... we just have to send it through email. Do you have a resource like that?

Actually, I've never looked, but I wonder if places like Walgreens or Wal-mart can do that for you? Maybe you can place an order online and pick it up later, like with photographs.

Thanks for your purchase!
Andrea :)

While I absolutely love them--they are adorable and so well laid out, great font, etc. now that I've actually got down to organizing my classroom library, I'm finding they are not meeting my needs. The app was nice for browsing and making a wish list, but I expected to be able to purchase from it as well. It was easier just to go to the TpT website on Safari, where I could do it all. Then I went back to the app to download the items in "My Purchases" and then saved them as PDFs in a folder in iBooks.

Hi hrmcnamee,

I don't have any plans to bundle the body systems products at this time. Typically, the "bundling" hasn't worked for me and customers request the items be sold separately. As a matter of fact, I'll probably take another bundled item of mine off the product list because it just doesn't sell and I've added new items anyway that aren't in the original bundle. I hope this doesn't deter you from getting what you want... downloading the four items shouldn't take much longer than downloading them combined. Thank you for your interest.

Hi mtfgiggles,

Items submitted to TPT are supposed to be uploaded as PDFs. I originally created the document in Power Point, but then saved it as a PDF to comply with the expectations. (It's also to protect the copyright of the clipart designers.) I hope you're still able to use the item even though you have to use the arrow keys. I find that using the arrow keys helps me to control the speed without the slideshow running automatically. That way, I can slow down or speed up, if needed.

Thanks for your question,

Hi tdhafner,

I do have suggestions, but they're a little labor intensive... that's why I try to be specific in the description. Instead of reducing them, can you punch a hole in them and attach them to your baskets with a ribbon or tie? One way to shrink them would be to take a screen shot of each one and reduce the jpeg. Or, you could reduce them on a color copier, but both of those options will take time. I'm sorry they don't fit on your tubs. I'm hopeful you can tie them on or attach them with a clothespin. :)

Hi! Did you follow Fry's or Dolch's word lists when you created this set?

The words are a combination of words from Fry and Pat Cunningham's resources.

If I sent you a list of authors or topics could you make more labels for me? I'd be willing to pay for them :-)

Hi Rkatz,

Please send me a list at andrealynknight@gmail.com. Depending on how many there are, I may just add them to the original document and send you the updated version. Thanks! :)

hwhytsell re: BUMP! Let's Learn Prefixes and Suffixes
Hi! My students love BUMP games. For this one, is the focus on just reading the affixes fluently or do the slides have words using the affix for them to identify? Thanks!

In this set, the children are reading only the prefixes and suffixes. In this quick exercise, I just want the kids to recognize the letters as a unit and read it.

Dear Andrea.

Can we promote each other’s teaching products?

I’ve been looking through your teaching resources on TeachersPayTeachers and LOVE what you do. Like you I am trying to get as much exposure for my own products and I’m hoping we can help each other.

I have a list of approx.. 20,000 teachers (50% US/Canada, 25% UK, 35% rest of world) and would like to mention your products in my email newsletter. I am sure many of my teacher subscribers would be interested in seeing what you offer. In return, I am hoping you can help me too – while earning an additional 50% commission on our products in the process. If you have a way of contacting your customers (an email database, facebook site, blog), I can supply you with a brief details about our in-demand product: ‘Take Control of the Noisy Class’.

All you need to do is send the email/blog post/update out to your subscribers offering them to go and watch a few free video tutorials on managing tough student groups. The first 3 videos are free, after which viewers are offered the chance to purchase the full program. There is no hard sell and our videos are very popular (even though they’re a little ‘bootstrap’ in style having been filmed in our attic using a cheap flip cam!J). Any sales will result in 50% commission paid directly to you by Paypal.

I am hoping we can build up to regular co-promotions like this to boost both our respective sales and make 2013 a great year – while providing teachers with the help and resources they need.

If you would like to know more, please contact chris@behaviourneeds.com and he will send you full details of how we can work together.

Best wishes,
Rob Plevin

Hi Andrea,
I am so very excited to start organizing my library! Is there a chance you could make a label for Anna Dewdney "Llama Llama", Victoria Kann "Pinkalicious", Rob Scotton "Slpat the Cat"? Please?
Thank You,
Rebekah

RBoyd re: First Grade Writing Units of Study {Supports the Common Core}
Hi
Just looking for persuasive writing but don't mind the other units. How many lessons per unit are offered? Do these lessons have all the components of the writiers workshop or just the minilesson?

Hi RBoyd,

For each unit, there are enough suggested minilesson topics to get you through about 30 days, depending on how you structure it and how your writers progress. If you are looking for scripted lessons, though, you may not want to purchase this set. I list lessons per unit, but I don't write out, "First do this. Then, say this." etc.

Thanks,
Andrea :)

I was under the impression that a packet would be mailed. You have stated "click on the FREE DOWNLOAD to view "many" of the ideas in the packet." For future customers you may want to add a little side note saying "p.s you will have to print yourself".

You have wonderful and creative ideas but instead of it being $8, I have to pay around $40-45 because of ink and paper. If I would have known I had to print and make an extra expense I would have reconsidered. But lesson learned, I know for next time.

Like I mentioned before, you have great creative ideas, and this will really help the kiddo I work with. That being said, I'm sure I could have ordered a work book for a cheaper price.

Hi acapobianco1,

I'm sorry you were disappointed with the pricing and didn't know the item was a digital product. Please know the majority of the sellers on TpT are primarily selling digital products that buyers download and print themselves. If you make any future purchases, check the bottom portion of the page where the product is listed and described. It will mention that the product is either a digital item or a "hard good." Hard goods will be shipped to the buyer, but digital items are printed by the purchaser.

Thank you for your purchase. I hope the child you work with enjoys the activities.

I love these library labels! You have made it so easy to organize my library! Is there any chance you would make a label for "Family/Friends", "Feelings", "Rhyming" and "Weather"?

Thank you so much!!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 17 years of teaching experience with primary children. Most of those years have been with children in 1st and 2nd grades, as well as intensive reading remediation with K-3 students. I am currently serving as a literacy coach in a PreK-5 elementary school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe children learn best in classrooms that are highly engaging and cooperative in design, with a focus on multisensory instruction. A balanced literacy program and integrated studies are important to me so children experience a connectedness throughout their day and across the year.
