Is there a way that you could create a "Way to go" award with only an African American student? Male and Female if you have the access to it? I teach in a very urban area, with a school that is 100% African American. Thanks!

Hi Tia,

I'll try to work on that over the next few weeks and add it in to the item. When it's updated, you'll receive notification that the item has been revised and you'll be able to download it again with the new changes.

Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Becca,

I'm happy to add you, but the Pinterest site hasn't been allowing me to add new pinners for two days now. I don't know if it's a glitch, but I haven't had this problem before. I'll contact them and see what might be the problem and get you added as soon as it's resolved. Thanks!

Well, it depends on the product, but I typically use:

NessB re: Poster: The Parts of a Writer {Girl}
Hi I was wondering if I purchase your posters may I use them as examples for my University assignment. They would only be viewed once by the students and would be referenced to you. I think they are a wonderful teacher resource and would love them for my classroom when I have one in the near future.
Kind Regards
Ness

Hi Ness,

Thank you for contacting me. If you purchase them, you can definitely use them for one of your assignments and in your future classroom. Please don't distribute copies to others, though. The copyright allows the item to be used by the purchaser only. Thanks! :)

Hannahsamuel re: Smart Art - Body Systems
I'm interested in a project for my students to complete at home. Are the materials to create the book things readily available in the average home?
April 11, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi,

If you have yarn, glitter, Q-tips, and a few other common items, they can definitely build this project. Everything needed for this project can definitely be found at a place like Wal-Mart or Target. :)

Do you have a "Bump" available for uppercase letters? I can only find the lowercase letters. Thank you!!
April 11, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
No, I'm sorry. I only have the lowercase letters at this time. I keep a running list of things I need to work when I have a little extra time... I'll add that to my list, but it may not happen until the summer. Thank you for your interest.

Have a great evening,
Andrea :)

I purchased your body unit and love the format. We are doing stories on animal camouflage in our reading and I would love to do a research project on animals in the sea who camouflage. My idea is to have each student choose an animal in the sea and do a report. I teach second grade and could give you some more info if you are interested in doing a packet. Thanks, Cindy T. from Fleming Island,Fl

Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi Cindy,

Thank you for your feedback and question. We are in the middle of some district testing windows and other projects, so I'm not sure I'd be able to take this on in a timeframe that would work for you since you're currently working on it. If you're interested in a different format, I do have a 3-page template called "My Animal Report" in my TPT store. Do you think something like that would work for your students?

kf715 re: Poster: The Parts of a Reader {Deeper Skin Tones}
I'm getting ready to purchase this to post in my classroom and I'm wondering if you could recommend the best at home printing method? White cardstock? I just have a regular printer. I know that Office Depot or Staples will do some printing but I'm not sure if they are able to enlarge or print this for me differently? Thanks for any and all suggestions! :)
March 9, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
If you want to keep it as an 8 1/2 x 11 reference sheet for students, you can just print it from your printer and give them each a copy for their writing notebooks. Or, you can take a digital copy (or literally your computer) to an Office Depot or Staples and ask them to enlarge it to poster size, if desired. In my school district, the central printing office makes posters for teachers... we just have to send it through email. Do you have a resource like that?

Actually, I've never looked, but I wonder if places like Walgreens or Wal-mart can do that for you? Maybe you can place an order online and pick it up later, like with photographs.

Andrea :)

Hi Andrea, I bought your labels for the Primary Classroom Library. While I absolutely love them--they are adorable and so well laid out, great font, etc. now that I've actually got down to organizing my classroom library, I'm finding they are not meeting my needs. Is there any way to "return" them? Perhaps get credit for them for one of your other products? Please let me know when you have a moment. Thanks! Ashley
March 6, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi Ashley,

I've never had this happen before, so I'm not exactly sure how you'd return a digital download. I'm sorry the labels aren't working for you. Can you tell me more about why they're not meeting your needs?

I am enjoying all of your resources! They are great. My question is about your clip art. Do you create it yourself? Thanks!
March 1, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi Hillary,

Thanks for the sweet comments. I don't make my own clipart, but I love Scrappin' Doodles, Melonheadz, and KPM Doodles. Typically, I use their artwork, but there are many great artists out there... even on TPT.

Have a great weekend!

aqua8 re: Spectacular Sight Words Mega Pack
Hi Andrea, I'm wondering if you offer your sight word word searches separately from the sight word pack? I really like them, but would rather buy just them than the whole pack.... although the whole pack looks great, it's more than I need right now. Thanks, Angie
February 24, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi Angie,

I'm sorry... the word searches aren't separate at this time. It's something for me to think about, though. When I get a little extra time, I may pull them out separately.

Have a great week!

Hello Andrea,
I'm a teacher from Spain for primary school children.
I like very much your poster, "The Parts of a Teacher " and I would like in Spanish for decoration in my classroom.
Could you translate it? And, of course, if you need help for translation would be a pleasure help you.

Mr. Terrero,

I would be happy to translate the poster for you. I don't speak enough Spanish to do that, but there are several Spanish speaking teachers at my school who could do the translation for me. I'll see what we can come up with and upload it soon. Please allow a week for me to complete this.

Thank you,
Andrea Knight :)

The app was nice for browsing and making a wish list, but I expected to be able to purchase from it as well. It was easier just to go to the TpT website on Safari, where I could do it all. Then I went back to the app to download the items in "My Purchases" and then saved them as PDFs in a folder in iBooks.

Just wanted to let you know that I have made my purchase, but I wasn't able to do it from the TpT app, which was a little disappointing. I did complete my purchase on the iPad, however, by going to TpT on Safari. It all looks wonderful, and I expect that I'll be back!

Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi Kristi,

Thank you for your purchases... I hope you enjoy the items. :)

I've never used the TpT app on my iPad. Do you recommend just navigating through TpT on the computer instead?
February 17, 2013

CyberkristiCharlie re: Elephant and Piggie Pack {Supports the Common Core}
Thank you, but I don't see any button about adding to my cart, just wish list. I am on an iPad app, but I assume you can make purchases from it. I will look for the cart button on the regular computer. I've already tapped on everything I can find on this iPad app, and I just don't see anything about a cart. Hmmmm...
February 17, 2013

CyberkristiCharlie re: Elephant and Piggie Pack {Supports the Common Core}
There are two items that I would like to purchase from you, but the download button is not lit up so I don't know how to go about downloading and paying for them. As you can probably tell, this is my first time buying anything from TpT. I logged in when I first got on, but I can't seem to figure out how to actually buy something. How embarrassing! Can you help me?
February 17, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi,

The "Download" buttons work for the free items and for downloading previews of paid products. To purchase a product, press the button to add it to your "cart." When you're ready to check out, you can click on your cart at the top of the page and the screen will prompt you from there. Happy shopping! :)

hrmcnamee re: My Body Part Report
Will you bundle all of your body systems stuff into a unit that I can purchase?
February 15, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi hrmcnamee,

I don't have any plans to bundle the body systems products at this time. Typically, the "bundling" hasn't worked for me and customers request the items be sold separately. As a matter of fact, I'll probably take another bundled item of mine off the product list because it just doesn't sell and I've added new items anyway that aren't in the original bundle. I hope this doesn't deter you from getting what you want... downloading the four items shouldn't take much longer than downloading them combined. Thank you for your interest.

mtfgiggles re: BUMP! Let's Learn Letters
I just purchased BUMP! Let's learn letters and I thought it was a powerpoint document. Is it possible to get it in a powerpoint so that it can be played automatically as a slide show versus me manually having to hit the arrow button and being able to switch up the order of the slides? Thanks for your help.
February 11, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi mtfgiggles,

Items submitted to TPT are supposed to be uploaded as PDFs. I originally created the document in Power Point, but then saved it as a PDF to comply with the expectations. (It's also to protect the copyright of the clipart designers.) I hope you're still able to use the item even though you have to use the arrow keys. I find that using the arrow keys helps me to control the speed without the slideshow running automatically. That way, I can slow down or speed up, if needed.

Hi Andrea,

I purchased the Reading Anchor Charts but I am unable to print pages 93-96 - really strange!! Would it be possible to either email the file to me or even just those pages?
I would really appreciate this as the children in my class love the bits we have been able to use so far! My email is keeleyja@hotmail.com

Many thanks,

I'll email those four pages to you. The document is so clipart heavy, I have a hard time emailing the full documents... they exceed the size for my email.

You should have it in a few minutes.

Thanks,

Hi Deb2005,

The "BUMP" games are just meant to be used as electronic flash cards, so to speak. It isn't really set up as a game, but I suppose you could print off the pages, laminate them, and use them in small groups with children.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

tdhafner re: Labels for the Primary Classroom Library
I just bought this, but is there a way to make them smaller to fit on my book bins? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you!
February 1, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
Hi tdhafner,

I do have suggestions, but they're a little labor intensive... that's why I try to be specific in the description. Instead of reducing them, can you punch a hole in them and attach them to your baskets with a ribbon or tie? One way to shrink them would be to take a screen shot of each one and reduce the jpeg. Or, you could reduce them on a color copier, but both of those options will take time. I'm sorry they don't fit on your tubs. I'm hopeful you can tie them on or attach them with a clothespin. :)

Hi there! I love this. However, when I tried to print it the bottom line and words did not show up. I tried to realign my printer many times but it still wouldn't print the bottom. I'm wondering if maybe you could size it a tad smaller so that maybe it would print the entire page? Thanks so much for your help! :-)
January 26, 2013
Andrea Knight  (TpT Seller)
I haven't had any others notify me of a problem with the document, but I'll take a look at it and see if I can figure out what might be wrong. It fits within the margins, so I'm not sure what could be the problem. I'll check it on my end, but do you have a tech specialist at your school who might be able to diagnose the problem?

Thanks,

Hi Linda,

Yes, you should be able to print them (it's a PDF), but the cards will be fairly large. Depending of what type of computer you have and how it opens, you might be able to reduce the size of the cards, if desired.

Behaviour Needs  (TpT Seller)
Dear Andrea.

Can we promote each other’s teaching products?

I’ve been looking through your teaching resources on TeachersPayTeachers and LOVE what you do. Like you I am trying to get as much exposure for my own products and I’m hoping we can help each other.

I have a list of approx.. 20,000 teachers (50% US/Canada, 25% UK, 35% rest of world) and would like to mention your products in my email newsletter. I am sure many of my teacher subscribers would be interested in seeing what you offer. In return, I am hoping you can help me too – while earning an additional 50% commission on our products in the process. If you have a way of contacting your customers (an email database, facebook site, blog), I can supply you with a brief details about our in-demand product: ‘Take Control of the Noisy Class’.

All you need to do is send the email/blog post/update out to your subscribers offering them to go and watch a few free video tutorials on managing tough student groups. The first 3 videos are free, after which viewers are offered the chance to purchase the full program. There is no hard sell and our videos are very popular (even though they’re a little ‘bootstrap’ in style having been filmed in our attic using a cheap flip cam!J). Any sales will result in 50% commission paid directly to you by Paypal.

I am hoping we can build up to regular co-promotions like this to boost both our respective sales and make 2013 a great year – while providing teachers with the help and resources they need.

If you would like to know more, please contact chris@behaviourneeds.com and he will send you full details of how we can work together.

Rkatz re: Labels for the Primary Classroom Library
Hi Andrea,
I am so very excited to start organizing my library! Is there a chance you could make a label for Anna Dewdney "Llama Llama", Victoria Kann "Pinkalicious", Rob Scotton "Slpat the Cat"? Please?
Thank You,
Rebekah

RBoyd re: First Grade Writing Units of Study {Supports the Common Core}
Hi
Just looking for persuasive writing but don't mind the other units. How many lessons per unit are offered? Do these lessons have all the components of the writiers workshop or just the minilesson?

Hi RBoyd,

For each unit, there are enough suggested minilesson topics to get you through about 30 days, depending on how you structure it and how your writers progress. If you are looking for scripted lessons, though, you may not want to purchase this set. I list lessons per unit, but I don't write out, "First do this. Then, say this." etc.

Thanks,
Andrea :)

I was under the impression that a packet would be mailed. You have stated "click on the FREE DOWNLOAD to view "many" of the ideas in the packet." For future customers you may want to add a little side note saying "p.s you will have to print yourself".

You have wonderful and creative ideas but instead of it being \$8, I have to pay around \$40-45 because of ink and paper. If I would have known I had to print and make an extra expense I would have reconsidered. But lesson learned, I know for next time.

Like I mentioned before, you have great creative ideas, and this will really help the kiddo I work with. That being said, I'm sure I could have ordered a work book for a cheaper price.

Hi acapobianco1,

I'm sorry you were disappointed with the pricing and didn't know the item was a digital product. Please know the majority of the sellers on TpT are primarily selling digital products that buyers download and print themselves. If you make any future purchases, check the bottom portion of the page where the product is listed and described. It will mention that the product is either a digital item or a "hard good." Hard goods will be shipped to the buyer, but digital items are printed by the purchaser.

Thank you for your purchase. I hope the child you work with enjoys the activities.

I love these library labels! You have made it so easy to organize my library! Is there any chance you would make a label for "Family/Friends", "Feelings", "Rhyming" and "Weather"?

Thank you so much!!

Hi Caroline,

I'll work on adding these by the end of the week and upload a revised version. The website will notify you of an updated copy to download at no additional cost.

Happy new year!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 17 years of teaching experience with primary children. Most of those years have been with children in 1st and 2nd grades, as well as intensive reading remediation with K-3 students. I am currently serving as a literacy coach in a PreK-5 elementary school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe children learn best in classrooms that are highly engaging and cooperative in design, with a focus on multisensory instruction. A balanced literacy program and integrated studies are important to me so children experience a connectedness throughout their day and across the year.
