Hi! My name is Carin Voigt and I just recently purchased your clip chart. I love it! I am also part of our school positive behavior intervention team. I shared your chart with them because we are trying to updated our 3 tier pocket chart system to the clip chart. Hi! B and D can be so hard sometimes. I have had success before in the past with using colored transparencies over the text. There are different colors and some kids respond to one color better over another. It's possible that will help. It's such a tough one. I've always felt like my kids just don't "see" it the right way. How would he do reading lists of words with b and d in them? Maybe give a list with b and d words. Have him highlight b's one color and d's another. Then try to read the words focusing on the target sound. Then move onto sentences with lots of b and d words. Maybe I'll go add that to my packet this weekend! I hope this helps!

I think we found another small glitch today. We were filling out the Rockhopper penguin diagram and the kids were puzzled because there was an arrow pointing at the flipper, but no flipper in the word bank. We added flipper on our own since we knew that part from the Emperor penguin. ;)

I am sure that I am just doing something dumb, but when I printed the "I have, Who has" cards, I think that I am thinking of the wrong words for the pictures because I can't seem to get through all the letters. For example, the Card with the A has a picture of a net, so I go to the card with the letter N and it has a picture of an alligator so wouldn't that just take me back to the letter A? Also, the card with the M on it, is that picture a ruler or an inch? I am excited to use this with my kids, I just think I am not thinking of the right words for the pictures. Hey! I just bought some tooth fairy clip art and am making a bundle of activities for speech therapists to use with their speech kiddos. I wanted to include a game and saw your awesome tooth fairy game. I was going to adapt the product to include the needs of my artic students. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Aloha! I been teaching special education for the last 3 years. During the last 3 years, I've served students in grades K-3 with multiple disabilities. I moved to Hawaii in December 2012. I'm currently teaching Kindergarten students in a resource room setting.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I feel like my students learn better if they are given visuals and hand motions to help them be successful. I've also found that my students are more engaged while playing games as they learn. I've created a bunch of games that focus on phonics and sight words.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
I'm honored to be the proud mom to 5 kids - 3 of which are triplets!!! That should count for some kind of award!

I received my Bachelor in Psychology through University of Maryland University and my Masters of Arts in Teaching Special Education through Piedmont College.
