This year is my 22nd year in education, including 18 full-time years in the high school English classroom and three years as a 6-12 ELA curriculum specialist for the third largest school district in North Carolina. I am currently in the classroom at a small middle college.
My strength is my ability to build rapport with my students, so my lessons are very relational; conferencing, cooperative grouping, pair work, and seminars are common elements of my lessons.

I live in North Carolina with my husband, a former teacher. In May of 2012 we adopted a newborn boy and named him Samuel, which means "God Heard." In addition to teaching, I serve schools and districts as a consultant and train teachers in writing instruction.
