I love, love, love the color coded standards! Any chance you would be adding 8th Grade Algebra I to this line up? I just found out I will be teaching this class next year and would love one to go along with my 4 - 8 set that I purchased!

Thanks :) Shannon

Hi Shannon,
I am wondering if you have compared the topics in your 8th grade algebra course to topics in Grade 8 CCSS. You may find that most of the algebra topics are already listed as Grade 8. Now, to answer your specific question-- I have a long list of products in mind for K-8, so secondary math products are on the "back burner." Have a great summer! Angie

Hi Sabre,
Because you are teaching Special Ed, I suggest that you buy the K-5 bundle and the Excel version that is K-8. With the Excel document, you'll be able to create lists of objectives for individual students across strands or grades.

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Grades-K-5-Common-Core-Math-Standards-Posters-CCSS-Overview-Checklists-235655

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/K-8-Math-Checklists-Editable-XLS-File-with-CCSS-Correlations-274120

Also, please take a look at my website, www.mathpaths.com. On that site it is easy to find games and activities for specific objectives. I'll be adding more games throughout this year. Thanks for asking!

I think your items are the best common core material out there. I am wondering if you plan self assessment packets for grades 4-8 like the one you have posted for grade 3?
If so, I want to buy them!

Also, is there any way for you to take your grade specific checklists and modify them so that each standard has it's own page and it includes a detailed 4-8 checklist of that standard? For example one page for The Number System, but that page having all grades 4-8 detailed (as you do on the grade specific page) checklists. I am teaching a remedial class in the fall and want the kids to be able to track their "catch up" progress by standard and I want to use your material. I could jing it from what I have of yours but would rather buy it from you, as I really like your design style.

Again, I love love love what you are doing! Thank you so very much.

Thanks for your positive comments! Yes, I'm working on grades 4-8 self-assessments and expect to finish them throughout late May and June. Also, take a look at the Excel version of the K-8 checklists. Some pages of the spreadsheet are organized by strand. I think this is what you are looking for. Let me know if you have other questions. An earlier version just had one page and the grade levels were coded as A to H instead of 1 to 8. The new version includes a one-page overview of grades 1, 2, 3 and checklists for all three of those grades. For some reason the file did not upload when I changed the description. Thanks for alerting me! I have now fixed this and you should get an e-mail notifying you that the updated file is available.

At our school the K teacher and grade 1 teacher co-teach math, the grade 2 teacher has her own math class, and the grade 3 and grade 4/5 teacher co-teach math. Should we order three licenses for our 3 math classes, or should we order 1 license per homeroom which would be 5 licenses? Your description indicated one teacher and their students. We teach at a small school, so we're organized differently than a large school. We're all very excited about getting such a quality product, read the ratings and comments. Please let me know how you want us order this product.

Hi laroyel, Thanks so much for asking about licensing. I'm glad that you want to be fair. If two teachers are co-teaching, it is fine to let them share a license. Make sure to look at the different bundles that I offer. The CCSS products that are marked as for one grade level for $2.49 actually include four posters: an overview plus checklists for the previous, current, and next grade levels. For the teachers that co-teach Grades 3-5, you may want to get the K-5 bundle so the Grade 3 teacher can see Grade 2 objectives. I hope that this is clear.

When you print the PDF file, change the scale to 64% or choose "scale to fit paper" or similar box. By the way, I will be posting a revision soon that gives the heading as Grade 1 instead of Level A and includes numbers of the specific CCS standards for each highlighted statement. You will get a link to download the revision for free. There are no changes to the checklist items. Have a great week! Angie

Hi Desiree,
The skills build from year-to-year but you will need to look at all of the checklist items in a strand. C is Grade 3, D is Grade 4, E is Grade 5. The "A" strand is Operations and Algebraic Thinking, so look at the items for each grade in that strand. I hope that this information helps!

K-8 Math Checklists (Editable .XLS FIle) of Problem Types for CCSS

Thanks for your question. You will notice that the title says "Cluster Overviews for K-8, K-5, and 4-8." Those overview pages are not watermarked (stamped). The description states that you will receive previews of the grade level charts which relate closely to the overviews. The previews are "for review only" so that you can completely evaluate those pages before you make a purchase, only $2.99 for a single grade level. I hope your summer is going well and that you will have a great school year!

I'm considering purchasing the K-5 common core math checklist posters. How come you didn't include 6th? Why do you break them down into levels/letters instead of grades?
July 28, 2012 Report inappropriate comment
n/a
Angie Seltzer  (TpT Seller)
Thanks for asking. You can get Grade 6 in the 4-8 bundle or the K-8 bundle. Originally I just offered K-8, but then decided to offer K-5 and 4-8 because a teacher should refer to the grade level above and below but may not need all 9 grades. The grade is marked in small print in the gray area at upper left. The reason the grades are marked as levels is that, during transition to CCSS, students may be assigned topics from a lower grade. Using letters helps avoid stigmatizing students who need to work on lower-grade topics.

The ".doc" version has the cluster statements underlined in color to match the large overview poster that I offer for free. I'm not sure how you plan to edit the documents, but all of the content on the overview poster is directly from CCSS at www.corestandards.org. What each poster provides is the convenient layout, which cannot be done effectively in Word. I hope this information is helpful.

Angie - Your free item should be totally free. Since the common core part can be easily downloaded by everyone, you should at least offer one of your checklists as free. Otherwise, you are turning away buyers. Make a different document in which you put the your other checklists, and sell that packet. You can advertise that item in your freebie. With the free Common Core Math Cluster Poster, teachers can see how the color coding ties the cluster statements to the grade-level checklists that I wrote. The checklists can be purchased individually and are also already available as a K-8 file. For convenience, I've included the free poster in the K-8 file as well since the pages are closely related.
