I was excited about purchasing this product to use with my students as review stations for the standardized exams coming up, however, was disappointed when I saw there were some errors on the instruction card at the end of the packet. Since the goal of the activity is for students to learn correct subject-verb agreement, the instructions should also follow that, in my opinion. Also, the recording sheet is on three pages, is it possible to have it on two, so it can be printed front-back? I was hoping to draw this to your attention and wanted to give you an opportunity to correct before I left feedback.

What are you "converting" exactly? Did you unzip the file to see both the PPT and PDF files? If not, you'll need to do that, then you can open each file. They are zipped in order to load them both together as one resource. The PDF is the same thing as the PPT but b/c so many people use various versions of PPT, I saved it as a PDF so you can use it at your convenience. Please let me know if I didn't answer your question. If you are having trouble unzipping, be sure you've got the right software downloaded to unzip files. Cards to use for practice combining for agreement. There is an included recording sheet and b/c there are 216 different cards, teachers can check the recording sheet or check student work by observation. The "activity to do with them" is arranging the different parts to combine into multiple sentences showin agreement. This would be for students who have been introduced to agreement and sentence parts already. And, of course, due to the MANY possibilities for sentence combinations, there is not just one right answer.

No it doesn't. It's a plan dividing the book up into 5 sections (after introduction/predictions for book) with suggested prompts and discussion questions for each section, as well as text structure charting activities to implement in small groups/literature circle groups. It's format is set up to guide you with small groups throughout the book. Students keep an on going flow map for sequence of events and various other activities. Suggestions for grading all activities together included at end.

I don't see why you couldn't give them the option at least...If they seem reluctant, maybe you could just give them the same handouts but give them a few days to catch commercials on TV at home and use those. In that way, they wouldn't be restricted to Super Bowl (I do know sometimes the commercials are not those that younger ones may understand). However, All of the sheets are fine for any type commercial on any date..it's not as though you're stuck to the Super Bowl. As far as your kids go, if they are familiar w/ the persuasion tools, I say let them go for it--as long as you know all students will have access to tv! You never know! Hope this helps!

The book contains projects for students to do with power points. There are lessons for each core subject with the step by step guidelines, planning pages, proceudres, etc. The book itself has power point slide template pages for planning the projects, a glossary of ppt terms, tips/tricks for power point, pages on assessing power point presentations. It's not a book on using the software, but one for teachers to use in assigning projects for students. For example: Language Arts has projects for Postcards, Story Sequencing, Selling the Book, Electronic Yearbook, All About Me...There are projects for Social Studies, Science, Math, Fine Arts as well. Book is written from perspective of "Power Point 97 for Windows" --CD contains Resource files for each of the projects in the book. Please ask further questions if you have them!! TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Most of my career spent in 7th - 8th grade English Language Arts; I've been in middle school for 8+ years. Taught 1 year each in K, 2nd, 5th Each has it's perks. I apparently enjoy the upper grades since I quickly moved up levels. I'm completing my 12th year with the end of this school year 2012-13...
MY TEACHING STYLE
I have a versatile style of teaching. I find it imperative to act as a facilitator while students explore their capabilities, applying their knowledge to be successful in classroom assignments, projects, activities, and meeting expectations. Spontaneity is seems to keep my room alive as well!!
