Since I've been teaching phys/chem changes, I could probably make use of the data sheet, but you might want to add directions that are a little more clear about how to set up the experiment for teachers looking for a quick lab activity. What I downloaded does not have directions for setting up the lab, just your thoughts on the before/after sheet, materials needed and the data collection sheet wi pictures. It doesn't expand on the actual activities themselves. Just a friendly suggestion. Thank you for your materials! Keep up the awesome work!

Hi, yes the first page gives the teacher instructions.
If you make copies of the before and after placemats for each station you can have them already set up.
Steel wool is best soaked for 24 hours in distilled water for the after oxidized look, then the crushed can, you can have enough cans for all kids to do the after or just have one sitting there for speed observations. I hope this covers your questions.
If you feel a task card is necessary you can write it under your placemat so that they know to look at the before and then the after and identify if it is a chemical or physical change.
The student observation sheet page 3 has place for students to check if it is a chemical/physical change and then a section to provide observations and proof of their conclusion.

Let me know if you need anything more... thought to self, maybe I will create those task cards you speak of! Thank you for selecting my materials.

I am adapting the assignment so my co-teacher and I are looking over other assignments that use the same idea. I have seen some where they assign the vocabulary words and others where they do not. We are wanting to use it as a final project so we will likely expand the idea.

I went back into the ppt, I did see a blank drill screen, (ooopps), every slide afterwards is working properly. If you delete that one slide you will have a solid presentation.

There are not "passages" they show you "what you see" and "what it means" instead.

If that does not clarify, please email me back. I am sorry I had a slide on there incorrect.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught K-8 PE, 7 & 8 Science, English ESL and loved every level I have worked with. I am universally capable of teaching all subjects, but my greatest love lies with the middles school ages.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use a lot of technology to enhance my students learning. I challenge students to use creativity and hands on learning to develop their own educational experiences. I am direct and very authoritarian,but give students the freedom of choice and active learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been awarded technology grants to allow my students to have 15 minilaptops for my classroom use. I have won a document camera, smartboard, and use of a slate. I have served on curriculum building teams, represented campus for STEM and have been looked to for mentoring within my campus. I have been selected for leadership trainings out of large amounts of applications.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a BS in Kinesiology and have taught PE, Coached, taught middles school science, and ESL English 6-8th grade. I have gone to many conferences over the years. I have spent an entire week at NASA for a gifted program for Math and Science teachers!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love teaching and working with the students today. I am inspired by many of the older generations of teachers and more so by the usage of technology within the classroom. Smartboards, cell phones, etc. Students are my life, I never look forward to breaks within the year, for not being with my students is sad, they energize me daily.
