Anne, I'm so glad TPT sends out emails, because your feedback didn't show up on my listing. Very strange! But, I'm now following you so I can keep track of your great photos. I will absolutely remember these sets when I plan my products. They are great! And my kids with autism just don't always do well with the cartoonish clip art. Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. Glad you like my photos, I agree that kids with autism work better with photos. I started taking photos for this very reason since it's hard for teachers to get good photos fast and inexpensive. Now I just need to take time and get my collections together. I need more hours in a day!

If you teach science, you can also use the evergreen tree when you learn about the different kinds (write the types of evergreen trees on the tree). Research why evergreen trees retain their leaves (needles) all year. What animals use or live in evergreen trees? What products come from evergreen trees?

Make sure you laminate them. The cost of printing them will be divided over many years. I try to keep them a good size but not to large because of the cost of ink. A pocket chart is great for activities.
Using a laser jet color printer produces clear (great on card stock) and a lot less expensive to print photos. It came with the ink, so you really don't pay for the printer. This is a good investment for teachers.
Don't forget to download my autumn photos which are free. Together they are great for sorting.

This was a flash idea one night as I was pinning. I made a connection to using the same idea in school. I'm retired so I don't have an example for you. If you need any help with an idea, I would gladly help you. Basically, you can use this anywhere you can use sticky notes or tack something to a board. The topic can be as simply as: "What was the most interesting thing you learned this week in ____." Students can even come up with an idea.

Thanks! Hope the photos don't make you too hungry. I just got a HP laser jet 100, boy it is so much cheaper and easier to print! Don't let the cost of the print deter you since it comes with ink, so the printer is free. Yes, the ink replacements cost a lot buy they last forever.

Glad you enjoy making my tree! This tree also can be used in connection with science activities. What is an evergreen tree (kinds)? Who lives in this tree? In spring or fall students could investigate the insects, birds or other animals that use the resources from this tree. They could draw the different animals in the tree and write about their findings.
You also might like my “Choose the Correct Category: Photos of Tree and Metal Products.” I have facts about all different kinds of tree products (rubber, cork & maple syrup) with photos. Trees are so interesting.

I'm so glad you appreciate my hard work! Getting clear up-close photos is a challenge which I enjoy. It is also time consuming and expensive (bought Nikon D700 equipment). I believe photos are great resources. I will be offering other sets; it just takes me time to get just what I want. You know what I mean since you’re a perfectionist too.

Great...I have so many tips since I taught all kinds of students, many subjects for 35 years! Look for the positive or strength in a child and build on it. "See how well you can do this! Now, let’s try this." Use the best resource at your fingertips: other students. Children remember the most when they teach another student. Use all students to help; even very low ones know things which they can teach. Teach children to teach themselves. This is their job; you just “help” them learn. Mini-lessons on one idea or concepts are great “attention keepers.” Read, read…read! Remember to give them “free” reading time. Just a few ideas: connect everything, use visuals, hands on activities and materials, an art center, allow choices, collection of nonfiction materials, vocabulary using categories, pocket charts, word rich environment, and my favorite - learning centers. These are great additions to so many subjects which are taught and add fun. Learning is social.

Anne, I saw your frames and think they're great! Isn't it cool that we can branch out and make different things that are so educational but so different at the same time? If only the "public" knew the ins and outs of what we educators do. The stereotypes and stigmas that we face are so, so, so far from reality. I mean, really...How many teachers have you met recently that are in it just for the money? summers off? good insurance? snow days? Another good example would be here at TpT; I was just talking with my mom about this today. There are all kinds of teachers here selling things and yes, there are some good and some bad products. But I would almost bet that despite the product quality/content, the teacher-creator had their whole heart in making the product and had our "little" friends in mind. I read some of your comments from other customers and sellers and you are so generous and kind Anne. You really have a kind heart; I bet you have all kinds of students that think of you as their favorite teacher of all time! And please, take your time on the photos. You know, I'd almost purchase any kind of pictures you take...Any themes you put up will be snatched up quickly. You're one of the only TpT Sellers of your kind offering such a unique product. And I know how long good art can take, so please just have fun taking the pictures and I'll be happy with whatever and whenever you come up with them!

You are so right and positive about your views. I believe the other trait we share is looking at everything in a positive way. When something negative happens, I always put it into a positive learning experience. My glass is always half way full (with red dry wine for my health) and not half empty!

Hello Anne! Just wanted to check in with you and see how you were doing...I've had a few comments about the animal photos used in my products; I send them to your store ASAP!
Thank goodness the weather is looking up! Today Garyn and I had our first t-ball game (I'm coaching). He's the catcher and it's a perfect position for him because it forces him to pay attention to what's going on. He used to play the outfield (he's not that good) and would do everything from play in the dirt to get everyone on the team to point to the planes flying above. LOL! We went to Chicago finally last week and had a lot of fun visiting Legoland and the Navy Pier. He got homesick for our dog Blue and so we came home early. But it was fun none-the-less (sp?)
What do you think about this Anne...Garyn saw a program on Netflix the other day about Beauty pagents called Toddlers and Tiaras and noticed some young boys doing pagents. He's asked me if he could do something like that because he wants to win a crown and be a King...I looked into it and there's a couple of pagents in our area but we live in a very small town in Michigan. I think it would be great for his self-esteem and he'd have fun doing it. I does cost a pretty penny; more so for the pagent girls though. We went to look at Tuxedos today and he just fell in love with the top hats and canes. What's your thoughts on this? I guess I don't really mind, but I don't want to become one of those pagent moms. Know what I mean?

My neighbor has such strength because of his beliefs. He and his dog have become part of our family.
Good for you taking Garyn to t-ball. My middle granddaughter is playing baseball. My daughter never sits down with raising three girls. I love Legos, wish I could visit LEGOLAND.
Anything which a child likes doing should be encouraged. You really need to weigh the cost and time against what you can do. I really don't know much about pageants.
I didn't forget about your shapes. I have been taking photos and making a collection. I have gotten caught up in making covers and frames. I am making some "different" covers and frames. If you see anything in my store you want to use, let me know. I will put it up for free for you.

Most government photos (USGS), PD Photos.org, morgueFiles.com, and Wpclipart.com are Public Domain. These are easy to use for commercial use. (The last time I gave out the actual web sites they didn't go through TpT e-mail.)
Go to your dashboard and on the lower right-hand side, click on copyrights to learn about them. Also, on the forum there is a lot of news and answers about copyrights. You can also use Creative Commons but you have to link the photos back and you must make sure it is for commercial use.
I use a Nikon D7000 with different lens to take my photos and they come out so clear. I also have other people who help me out.

I love your visuals! I believe there is a market for them. Keep working on them. It takes a long time and a lot of work but it's fun. I'm developing task card frames and other tools for TpT creators. Also I'm working on two requested photo collections.
I have my art degree and drawing is one of my favorite things to do. Since there is so much clip art available, I have stayed with developing photo collections. My photos can be resized and used as clip art. I can put together photo clip art collections which I would use simple objects and transparent backgrounds.
What are you interested in? If I can't help you, I'm sure I can point you in the right direction.

To tell you the truth, I had been working on that collection for months. I still had to pick the best photo of each fruit and also make sure it looked great large or small.
I’m so glad you are making resources using photos. Teaching vocabulary in visual categories, helps students make connections and develop concepts. I have found even very young children, can learn so much using photos and develop a large vocabulary.

I have many more photos...it take me a lot of time to get just the perfect shot. I'm one of those perfections, then again aren't most teachers? If you need a collections of certain photos let me know and I'll work on them for you. I’m work like Benjamin Franklin, I have many projects going at once. Photos on line cost way too much for teachers and this is why I offer photos to TpT creators. Teachers work so hard and the world needs to wake up to what teachers do. If you need any artist background for your projects lets me know and I also can create them for you. My backgrounds would be not the usual since I create artist motif.

I did some research and found some information regarding the Creative Licence. Below is from their website.

Every Creative Commons license also ensures licensors get the credit for their work they deserve. Every Creative Commons license works around the world and lasts as long as applicable copyright lasts (because they are built on copyright). These common features serve as the baseline, on top of which licensors can choose to grant additional permissions when deciding how they want their work to be used." http://creativecommons.org/licenses/

Your decision to go in the direction of photo products is an astute one. There really is a huge amount of competition in the primary grades! Besides, you have a wonderful talent for photography, and this lets you use your talent to help teachers. I'm sure your photos will be much appreciated for use in products! I know I'll be watching for more to be added to your store!

I didn't want you to think that I didn't respond to your kind comment about my Autumn Inferences activity. The site is being a bit persnickety about accepting my responses to buyers' comments... I type them, and they disappear! I've fallen way behind!
Your photos are wonderful, and I look forward to using them in upcoming products. Like you, I am retired and can frequently be found wandering with my camera, looking especially for shots to use with products. My collection is small, though, and cannot compare with the quality of yours!
Don't you love this site? Who would think we'd find a place where we can still "keep a finger in the pie of education", so to speak? :) I just love knowing that I can still influence and help students and teachers, don't you?

Yes, I love this site since I still love learning and teaching. It is such a great way to stay in touch with other teachers and still help to educate our children! Thanks for your kind words about my photos.
I just looked through your site and at all of your products. They are superior: a great front, clear, clean, nice clipart, great learning activities, visually interesting and more… I am going to e-mail all of the teachers I know who would use your products about you. Wow! I am so impressed with your work, it is the best.
Your products reflect the way you taught and all of the best practices of teaching. I taught the same way; it just works. Since there are so many great learning products like yours, I decided to develop different kinds of products. It certainly keeps me busy!

Teacher Treasure Hunter (TpT Seller)
I finally uploaded my owl activity unit! Some of the other animals we'll be studying this year are bats (I found it very hard to find good photos of this one that could be used - I wanted some to show largest bat (Flying Fox) Smallest bat (Bumblebee Bat), etc.)), Arctic animals, pond animals and ocean animals. Oh, and a quick study of the groundhog in Feb. I'll be looking for pictures related to those studies. Thanks so much for checking out my products and leaving feedback! I appreciate it! It takes a lot of time just to get the right photos and then to create a unit or activities! That is why publishers have so many people working for them and their products cost so much! At TpT teachers need to develop or have so many skills to put together outstanding learning materials. I think every buyer should put together one product.
Anyway, I will look for the bat photos you want but I can’t promise you I can get you them! First let’s start with the arctic animals, what specific animals do you want? Birds, land and water animals make up a large list especially if you want animals from both the North and South Poles! You could do a whole unit on just penguins! (Saw then when I was in Tasmania, wow!) Do you want to do just the arctic? Do you want to do Antarctica? Do want photos of the environment which these animals live in?
Give me list of ocean animals and pond animals you want. There are so many ocean animals! Also with pond animals, do you want photos of their environment?

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
After 35 years of teaching in an urban district, I retired to help take care of my three granddaughters. During my teaching career I taught all subjects from second to fourth grade. I also taught seventh and eighth grade reading. I spent my entire career in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I believe in learning centers or stations. My teaching style developed from my art experiences, being right-brain, and teaching all kinds of children at one time.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
The most important acknowledgments I have ever received are the many thank-you notes, drawings and visits year after year from my students.
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I graduated from Kutztown University with an elementary and art teaching degree. I also earned my masters in elementary education.
ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
I love learning, reading, researching and writing. Most of all, I enjoy creating and being creative. I enjoy creating in many areas. I have an English garden which is around thirty years old which I designed. I grow and dry flowers to make wreaths and arrangements. I make magnetic materials for learning activities. I am writing learning centers for busy teachers using my experience. I enjoy introducing my three granddaughters to the joy of learning. My daughter is a vice-principal at the high school she graduated from.
