I love the idea of this. However, when downloaded and took a closer look at the actual activities, I wished the quality of them was elevated. Sure, some of them are quite fun for the students. However, with everyone talking about the Common Core (especially administrators!), I was hoping to find task cards that push students' thinking much farther than this, and encourage them to use those higher-level thinking skills. I ultimately decided not to use these in my classroom.

Hi!
I love that idea! I am not sure why I never did that in the first place. :) I have revised the labels changing the bee to a red schoolhouse with a flag and a tree. I also changed the house (since it was red, too) to a picture of a white house with flowers. They should be much more easily recognizable. Once you download them, you should be able to change the images as you want to, if you find images you like better.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I taught for 8 years in our rural public education system. My first two years were spent teaching Reading Recovery and Title One reading. My final 6 years were spent in a wonderful first grade classroom. I recently resigned to homeschool my son and to be at home with our children.
MY TEACHING STYLE
In my teaching, I like to integrate many different subject areas into my centers, reading groups, lessons, and units. I allow my students choice in the way they represent their learning and many opportunities to show what they know. I like to have my students busy all the time. If they finish working on an assignment, there are always centers to go to, projects to work on, or things to do at their seats.
