Hola! I just purchased and downloaded this activity, and I love it! I just have one question...when I download it, the questions start right off at "escena 2"...are all the conjugations for just that scene, or is it for the first and second scenes...and also, while I'm at it...by scene do you mean "chapter" on the DVD? Thank you for clarifying! Great activity!

I really would like to purchase this product but I do have one question. I live in a small town in Louisiana. We have a few Mexican style restaurants but unfortunately we do not have a large Hispanic community. Will this product be conducive to the place I live since we do not have a lot of Hispanic people here to engage with?

Number pairs of desks in the room with sticky notes or number cards. So, if you have a class of 24 students you will need 12 stations. I usually just use index cards. Have kids take out a sheet of paper and write the number of their first station. Start the game, determine the winner and tell students to rotate. Winning students move down one number. So if I won at 8 my next stop is 7. Losing students move up one number, so if I won at 5 my next stop is six. With 12 stations if you lose at 12 you move to one and if you win at one you move to 12 and keep counting down each round. Its important to move both winners and losers so kids dont feel bad staying put while others pass them up. rock paper scissors to decide arguments or break ties and then rotate. hope this helps to clear it up, the first time you play its a little tricky to explain, but this game is fun for them and I use the idea for lots of concepts, you dont even need a powerpoint, sometimes I do verbs or vocabulary just writing them on a white board. The directions for the game are on slide 20 (right before the game starts) Basically you are racing your partner for accuracy and speed. Its good to be fast, better to be right. If you tie or fight or disagree or both get it wrong, rock paper scissors to decide a winner and a loser. Winners move one station lower, losers one station higher. Number your new station before each new round. First person back to their seat "winning" wins the game.

This happens to me all the time. Its not a big deal bc the "ghost" partner rotates every turn and there will be a new student w/o partner for each round. I tell the students that you are on the honor system, if your answer is correct rotate one number lower and if its wrong rotate one number higher. Still works fine! :)

I do understand. That is why I asked. I would never post something that was not my own product and call it mine. I enjoyed your product (I gave it a 4.0 rating) and thought that more people could enjoy it if it were in French as well. I have one product that I translated from The Enlightened Elephant; she gave me permission to post it. In my description I say right out that it is her work. And in the product I ask users to rate HER product (the Spanish version) if they like it. In fact, SHE rated my product and said how cool it was in French too. I meant it as a compliment; I did not intend to upset you.

I am not upset, I hope I did not give you that impression, in fact I appreciate it that you asked me in advance. I am happy you liked the product enough to adapt it to French and to use it. I guess where I become concerned has more to do with accountability. Hypothetically, lets say someone took issue with one of the clip art icons used in the original. I can fix that, but if the French version is out there under another username and credits me, ultimately I become liable, and I cant fix it. I just prefer that my products are something I can edit and control, so that if some day, anyone became unhappy with a picture or a topic, I am free to respond to it. thank you for being considerate enough to ask in advance. :) Barbara

Honestly I would really prefer if you do not post assignments that I have created in any form or for any price on this website. All my lessons contain a copyright license and are my own creations from my brain. Not all of them are sophisticated, but they are my own ideas and I think its only fair that each teacher post things that belong to them. I have no problem with people who purchase my products sharing them with colleagues in the spirit of good teaching, but the ability to revise products, reproduce them in other languages I teach or remove them are all rights reserved under a copyright, and if other people are posting things I made, and using my name in the credits I cannot control them. I hope you can appreciate and understand my rationale, and will respect the originality and spirit of entrepreneurship that this site and its contributors has worked to foster. Barbara

Its a regular full length feature film. I guess it depends on how you want to use the movie. I usually teach it in four class periods, dedicating time to discussion along the way, so kids can fill in the answers and ask questions. Length of lesson really depends on how much your students know about the issue of illegal immigration up front, you might just have to play it by ear the first time through. Barbara

Dear Barbara,

My name is Jack Dennison. I am the Editor-in-Chief of www.FunnelBrain.com, an educational website. I am writing to you because the quality of the work you have posted to PTP distinguishes you as a talented author. I am looking for teacher-authors to create custom study review materials for FunnelBrain (on a paid basis, of course).

These study materials would take the form of online flashcards, quizzes, and study guides for high school and college level courses, as well as for certain standardized exams such as the GMAT, the SAT or the GRE. We are also interested in lesson plans built around activities that can take place on www.FunnelBrain.com.

If you are interested in a paid writing assignment, please email me at jack@funnelbrain.com, and I will respond with details on the available assignments. In the meantime, please feel free to browse FunnelBrain.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Jack Dennison

To my knowledge there is no profanity in this movie. I have watched it many times with students. The use words like GOSH, FLIPPING, and FREAKING to communicate the message but I have never heard any swear words. This movie carries a PG13 rating and should be suitable for high school children.
