Thanks for this! I try to start or end my seventh grade history class with critical thinking activities, and this is perfect! It wakes them up, gets them involved and thinking, and gets them excited. Wonderful!

WOW - what great challenges! The new PowerPoint is absolutely awesome with great visuals and great clues to guide children in the right direction mathematically. Well structured and with great navigation. This will be a brilliant challenge for my pupils. Keep up the great work for teachers :)

Barrie -- FANTASTIC resource! I do professional development for adult educators and many of them are struggling with having to raise the rigor of their instructional content and methods - this is a great resource to show them that the QUESTIONS are as important, if not more important, than the answers... it's all about the process - and this is a tool to show them HOW to do what they need to do. I love the way HOTS are emphasized in these activities! I am a fan!!

I like the rich problems. There's a lot of math from each slide. I do question the smallest number written in word form with the letter a as being 101. This is written as one hundred one. You don't say one hundred and one as the "and" stands for the decimal point. But the rest of your problems are great.

Fabulous! Was wondering about 101 in the second activity, but as I scrolled down, I see your explanation. "And" is reserved for decimals and fractions, but I guess the UK is different. Thanks for taking the time to make this up for everyone!

Hope they go down well with your students - what I found was that they each appeals to different students... some love the computation, some the lateral thinking, some the logic challenges, some the shapes... Something for everyone hopefully.

Add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page for the teacher. (How do use these? When? Etc.) List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product.
Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page/slide. Here is how you do that. Use the insert and go to the right. You should see symbols there. Insert the copyright symbol, your name and date. It should look something like this: © V. Rauch (Scipi), 2011 Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also number your pages/slides.

Over 10 years experience as a class teacher (ages 7 to 13). Over 20 years experience as an IT trainer/consultant in the corporate and Government world. ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
I spent my first few years after graduation working first in adult psychiatric units, and then in SEN units. Having gained this invaluable experience, I realized that teaching was my passion, and then spent nearly a decade as a classroom teacher, confidently teaching the full range of subjects to children aged 7 through to 13. During this period, I had special responsibility for Science, Games, Multi-Cultural studies and ICT, and ran out-of-school clubs for computing, reading for pleasure, creative writing, rugby, soccer and badminton. When an opportunity arose to travel and teach in India and Nepal for a year, I moved on and on my homecoming, decided to combine my passion for teaching with my interest in computers, and embarked on a new career, first as an IT trainer, and then as an IT consultant.
