Hi. Before I leave a comment I think it should be mentioned that this to be used with the book Cactus Hotel by Guiberson. I will admit, I read the information quickly and I did purchase your unit but I did not clearly understand that it was an outside book that was needed to complete this unit. I thought it was a 'book' you had written and it was included. I am new to elementary school (transferring from middle school) and I do not know all the books yet.

The x that you are referring to is part of the background of the card. I just did a trial print of that card myself using my new HP and the words aren't distorted on my end. Make sure you are using at least the 'normal' setting on your printer. If you use 'draft' to print it may cause the distortion. I'm not sure since I can't see your printer. =)

I really like this set and it is perfect for my camping themed classroom. Is it possible for you to change the background on the phrase cards to one theme or no background at all? I find some of them very difficult to read with all that is going on in the background. Thank you for this product!

I cannot find the original file for this product. It must not have made it to my external drive before my computer crashed. If you are not satisfied with the product I can offer you something of the same value right now. I won't be able to redo the product to meet your specifications until after school is out. I am benchmark testing my kids from now until the end of the year in all subjects, so I just wouldn't have time until then. I can tell you that I used these cards myself this fall and the backgrounds didn't cause any problems with my small group. That shape is a complex quadrilateral (the intersection doesn't count), but I can see how that could be confusing. I will change it and reupload it. Hopefully TpT will not throw a monkey wrench into things.

I have been teaching for 18 years, 13 of which were in the inner city. Along the way I earned my master's and a specialist's degree. I have conducted several balanced workshops in the Southeast Tennessee area.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I am not an 'in the box' teacher. I enjoy trying new things, but at the same time know that I must document everything I do for the administration. Most of the files I create begin with this in mind.
