is the rubric filled in on the actual download?
August 22, 2013 Report inappropriate comment
Beth Hammett the Educator Helper
Hi!

The rubric is exactly as shown, and it has a column for areas that students will be scored on: On Topic, Colorful, Game Tokens, Playable/Winnable, Required # of Squares (you fill in the number). The points row at the top lets you fill in the number based on your class grading formula for A, B, C...

I hope I answered your question, but let me know if you need more information on the product.

Thanks so much!

Buyer re: Film Analysis: A How-To Guide for Complete Film Analysis Writing
Hi there! If I buy this resource is it locked or can I make changes to it so that it suits my needs?
Cheers, Julie

Hi, Julie,

Due to the copyright issues with graphics used, it is in PDF format. To make it your own, open the PDF file, go to the toolbar and choose Edit. Then, choose Copy or Select All. Open your empty PowerPoint then paste the slides into the program. It does take a couple of minutes, but it's the only way to get around copyright infringements since I have no control over the presentation once it is purchased.

Sorry about the inconvenience! I hope the solution will work for you.

Sincerely,
Beth, Educator Helper

Hello
I was wondering if you could email me the power point file so I can add to it.

Beth Hammett the Educator Helper
Hi, Lauren,

Due to the copyright issues on the graphic images and the preposition activities, I am unable to send it as a PPT to be revised. However, once you purchase the presentation, you can open the file through Adobe then click Edit on the toolbar. Next, select Take a Snapshot and paste into a PowerPoint presentation. That will fix the problem for you. My apologies, but the copyright issues are very stringent.

I appreciate your patronage! I hope the directions are helpful to you and solve the problem.

Sincerely,
Beth, Educator Helper

Buyer re: Having Fun with Plagiarism
The preview was a PowerPoint, but when I purchased it, it downloaded as a PDF file. Is this the format in which it was supposed to download?

Thanks!

Beth Hammett the Educator Helper
Hi! Yes, due to copyright issues on graphics, all presentations are in PDF format. You can copy the information over from PDF to PowePoint by selecting the copy image tool. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the patronage!

Sincerely,
Beth

Susan M. re: Persuasive Writing with Interactive Writing Activities
Does your Persuasive Writing include a rubric?
February 20, 2013 Report inappropriate comment
Beth Hammett the Educator Helper
Hi, Susie,

I added a Peer Workshopping component and Scoring Rubric to help make persuasive writing easier to implement. Thanks for the suggestion!

I hope the unit meets your needs and helps students with their writings. Another suggestion might be S.O.A.P., an alternative to the five-paragraph essay.

Enjoy and thanks for your patronage!

I just downloaded the "preview", and I think it might be the whole file! It's 9 pages, and there's no "demo" or anything watermarked in.

Thank you, Sarah, I'll be sure to fix it! I have quite a few files that were uploaded that way when I first joined TpT. Finding them has been a nightmare! I appreciate your feedback, and I hope the products meet your students' needs.

Happy Tuesday!

Beth Hammett the Educator Helper
Hi, Sheri,

All the PowerPoints have been converted to PDF because of copyright issues and for presentation purposes. They look polished once converted to PDF and used in front of audiences. They also print to fit the page once converted to PDF.

To copy the info over to ppt format, save the file. open the pdf and use the copy tool on the toolbar to paste into a new presentation. If this option is not available to you let me know, and I will try to send the file to you in another format.

Thanks for your patronage!

Just wanted to let you know that the preview file for this item is a full 30 pages. Did you accidentally upload the full file and not just a preview? Or maybe not, but I just wanted to ask since your description states that the file is 30 pages long. Feel free to delete this comment after looking at it. Happy weekend! :)

Dear Beth,

My name is Jack Dennison. I am the Editor-in-Chief of www.FunnelBrain.com, an educational website. I am writing to you because the quality of the work you have posted to PTP distinguishes you as a talented author. I am looking for teacher-authors to create custom study review materials for FunnelBrain (on a paid basis, of course).

These study materials would take the form of online flashcards, quizzes, and study guides for high school and college level courses, as well as for certain standardized exams such as the GMAT, the SAT or the GRE. We are also interested in lesson plans built around activities that can take place on www.FunnelBrain.com.

If you are interested in a paid writing assignment, please email me at jack@funnelbrain.com, and I will respond with details on the available assignments. In the meantime, please feel free to browse FunnelBrain.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Jack Dennison
