Shared this with my Kindergartners today--and they loved it! Thank you for your hard work. Found a couple of itty-bitty typos...slide #14 YOU'RE instead of YOUR and slide #16 I think is BIG instead of BIT? Also, can I share it with some other music teachers? One did ask me about copyright usage of the author's book--I'm not as familiar with that as I should be, but just didn't want a fellow teacher in hot water unnecessarily. Thank you again!

Thanks for the comments! I changed it today. As far as copyright, I copied a picture of the book and included it on the title slide as well as put the author and illustrator on the title page. That way people can purchase the book. I hope that was enough. I usually read the "real" book in class and have students check it out in the library. Then I use the PPT for the music lesson so I don't have to switch pages and sing and play instruments at the same time. Kids will usually bring in the book and say "hey, Mrs. Wheeler I
just checked out the Halloween Bones Book"!
(I hope that is enough for copyright law-since I gave credit for the book.)Let me know if it is not so I can fix that problem :)

Hi. That is a great question. I do sing a song with the book. I sing the third page and I rap the rest of the pages using rhythm instruments as accompaniment. I will write the song down and add it. No one has asked for the song before. Great question.

Thanks! I use publisher to begin the layouts. The text boxes are easy to move and format. I have graphics or have already bought the copyright to the graphics if they require. I also use a font program called 'staffwriter'. This is not a free program, but is avaiable for purchase. When you download the program and intall it, you have access to a keyboard full of music symbols and notes. (two keyboards if you count the shift key). You also get a type font for regular letters/numbers. The program comes with a PDF file and includes a handy, printable keyboard. I printed it on cardstock (front/back) and use it for reference. Simply layer the music symbols/notes. I am currently working on a recorder fingering game. I hope this helps!

Playing my flute in MIdwest Winds is a highlight of my time away from the classroom. Past Experience: All state adjudicator in AR as well as solo/ensemble adjudicator for state contest.
