Hello! I also teach first grade in a Christian school! I have taught for 26 yrs. but am new to teacher blogging! I thought it would be great to have a Christian school teacher's blog hop. Would you be interested? Do you have any colleagues that would be interested? I don't work with anybody who is creating their own products yet. I just started a week ago. My email is EvelynD2@comcast.net. Thank you! Evelyn

Hello,
I am interested in purchasing your "My Plant Journal" but was hoping you could clarify a couple details on your thumbnail #3. The last sentence says "we put in by the window." Is it supposed to say "We put it by the window?"

Thank you.

Yes, it is.. I'm so sorry about that! I've used and looked at it so many times and never noticed! I think sometimes it takes a fresh eye to see those things..I'm surprised my students never noticed it either!
I will have that updated by this evening.. thanks for your interest! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Hello,
I love the fonts that you used for your "My Plant Journal." Where have you gotten such cute fonts?

Thank You!

I have gotten many of my fonts from www.dafont.com, as well as www.kevinandamanda.com...they have awesome scrapbook fonts! Pinterest is also a great place to find them. People make up great pins that show their favorite fonts and then I Google search the names to find and download them. I hope that helps! If you want any specific font names, let me know!

Thanks so much for downloading! :)

Do you use the Abeka reading curriculum? Is there anything that you do with it that is really helpful to your students. This is my first year using it and I am hoping to improve next year! I am so glad to find a teacher on tpt that uses Abeka!

I kind of use the Abeka reading curriculum. I prefer just using the Phonics for the small/guided reading groups and then supporting those lessons with the leveled readers when the students read to self and/or read to someone. I also take time to read with each child/partners to hear their progress. I have found I see better progress with their skills/development working through the Phonics lessons in small group settings. I use the "chalkboard" material in page protectors in a binder to teach it. We do some on that, but they do much of it on dry erase boards. I have all of the material typed to print in my store if you think that may work better for you. I like it better, personally.
I'm glad you are finding useful Abeka materials! If there is something specific you are looking for, please let me know! Thanks so much!

This may have been explained and I just missed it but do the kids just place the circles of whatever center they are doing in the tins and then put them back in the tub when they are done?

Blessed in First  (TpT Seller)
Yes. I designed it so there are at least 12 circles for each center. You could choose the 6 for them or they could choose them. I keep the materials, like the circles and poms, in Ziploc bags so they are all separate and don't get mixed up. I how that helps!! I apologize if I didn't explain it well in the packet!

Do you have any other 1st grade abeka related items that are not on listed? I will be teaching 1st grade in the fall and once I am able to get into the classroom and print some of these items I would love to have as many ideas as possible. I love all the items you have currently loaded.

Thank you! I do have several Excel checklists I made for the Abeka special sounds. I didn't post them because they are so specific. I use them in several ways to assess which sounds my students know and need to work on. I can email you those. I have also made some spelling activities that correlate specifically to the Abeka word lists. I'll scan through my files and see what else I have that I might now be remembering. I can email you copies of everything as soon as I get them together so you can decide what might work for you. I hope they will help! Please let me know your email address. Thanks!
