I have taught 2nd grade for 6 years in a public elementary school. I am trained in Learning Focused Strategies planning and teaching. I also volunteer at my local library doing story time for preschool aged children. Most importantly, I teach my own three young children at home.

My teaching style varies. It can change from year to year, month to month, or even day to day, depending on the students. I've been known to have 7 to 10 different reading groups going at once to accomodate my students' needs. I like for my students to be truly engaged with the activities planned and will take the time to plan accordingly. I am firm and nurturing at the same time. Really, anything goes. I am not afraid to change and try something new if something else is not working.
