I have been working on figuring out which of my classroom books earned Caldecott and Newberry honors so I can categorize them for my students. The other sites I have found have so much information; I get overwhelmed just looking at it! I do want to know which books were honored, but the actual winners are the ones I want to help my students learn to recognize and want to read. Thank you for simplifying this for us.

I just listed a new type of Sight Word PowerPoint for Kindergarten and First Grade. It is listed under First 50 Sight Words PowerPoint. It includes the words in isolation and within the context of sentences with picture support. I wondered if you might consider taking a look at the free 4 slide preview to see if it might be something you could use. Thanks! Anne Gardner

Just got back from storytelling at the KY Storytelling Conference in Carlisle, KY. At schools this week and the MS Children's Museum the next week. I'm so glad that you found the songs helpful. I hope to get my Fall Songs posted soon. All my items are free.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
My experience expands a 35 year span that includes storytelling, teaching writing and designing your own book, puppet theater, early literacy, teaching library skills, and teaching music and drama to children. Also, I have instructed educational workshops for teachers and parents.

Learning happens when students are involved in hands-on activities.

As a storyteller and educator, I have presented stories at schools, conferences, universities, churches, the mall and the zoo. I have led numerous workshops on the state, regional and local levels. I am on the Mississipppi Arts Performing Artist Roster and Teaching Artist Roster.
