24 years teaching English/Language Arts, creative Writing, TAKS preparation and remediation. I've taught mostly 11th/12th grade English, but have an experience range from 7th grade regular English/LAnguage Arts to Sophomore College level courses. I spent many years teaching Pre AP and Ap English.
I love my kids and want them involved. Each of them has a valid truth that needs to be told, so I tend to focus on their writing and ways we can add imagery and sophistication. I have great success with all level students but particularyly with my reluctant readers and writers because they feel safe enough in my room to take a chance... and that's a good day in my book!

I live in a small East Texas town with my husband of 26 years. We have two children, Caitlin, 21 and jordan 18 and a senior this year. I have one grandson, Maddox; he and I are co-collaborators in much mischief! in my spare time, I love to ride and show reining, working cow horse, and cutting, draw, read, and cook for my family!
