My teaching career began over thirty years ago in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Since that time, I have taught various grades including ESL. Presently, from my home office, I offer tutoring sessions and develop educational resources.
I like to provide my students with a wide range of teaching strategies so they have a solid foundation. Then, I give them opportunities to use the strategies and take risks with becoming more successful. In addition, I believe feedback is very important. For this, I use rubrics and suggestions for improvement. I think students need to learn that they "can do it" but that they are the only ones who can make it happen.
