Hi! No you would not be duplicating. The small group plans a-n are more reading skill/strategy based and specific for each of the levels. The whole/small group plans focus on reading comprehension strategies that can be used at any small reading group level after teaching whole group. Both are very good resources to use-if you are wanting something primarily for your small groups I would start with the a-n packet. After getting a handle on those levels you can always purchase the strategy lessons. I made the a-n lesson guides first and then went back and made the other packet after I fine-tuned my small group lessons. I hope that helps you!

Hi! I love my punchcards! There are several ways to do them. I use them just the end of the day. They get 1 if they are on green, blue or purple (behavior clip chart). They get 2 for white and 3 for top of the chart. Yes-good choices. Before having a behavior clip chart I would give punches for good behavior at various times of day. I actually use a small stamper instead of a puncher. 2 ways to store. Use a library pocket and adhere to inside of desk or on top of desk. Or they can keep in a pencil box or binder. I've always made them be responsible for it. They lose it-they start all over. Also, I have them put them on their chair on top of their desk so I can just stamp them after school. Hope that helps!

You're very welcome.....I am confused about your spelling question....the shape is a sphere and it is spelled correctly....it is the 3-d ball shape. And yes, the separation was intentional because as a 1st grade teacher I introduce/ teach the shapes separately. I should make one that is combined but I haven't yet.

Hello, I purchased this Thanksgiving unit and am happy with the creative activities it includes. However, I'm concerned that on several of the activity pages proper nouns are not capitalized. Because of common core, we've been really focussing on common/proper nouns, so I hate to give the kiddos sheets that aren't capitalized properly. Is there any way to get this corrected so that I can redownload?

I just purchased your Thanksgiving unit for first grade. I am happy with it overall. I am disappointed that several of the activity sheets do not have Thanksgiving or Indian capitalized. We've been working hard on capitalizing proper nouns (common core!). Is there any possibibility of getting that corrected and redownloading the unit?

If you are referring to the updated F/P levels--The level's reading behaviors/teaching points have not changed. The suggested levels for each grade has changed slightly--but only if your school has decided to change. I will eventually add an updated level chart if you are choosing to add that extra level/challenge for your class. If you are referring to something else--please explain :). Thanks!

I am sorry you feel that way....I am not comfortable sending you the word document because when you try to type into it, it becomes a jumbled mess--I have tried. In fact, I never sent the word version to KM. This product is meant to be printed and filled out. I have an accordian file in my classroom with blank lessons A-K. When I need to do my lesson plans, I just pull out the correct level and quickly jot down my plans. I love that I do it by hand because I can make quick, easy changes as the needs of my kids change on a daily basis. Also, it is much easier to take notes with pencil while my kiddos are reading. I hope you decide to print these out and give it a try. They are a great time saver!

Hi! I've been asked to do reading enrichment with firsties (they're reading at mid to end of 1st grade levels and some are early second grade). I have the kids once per week for 30 minutes - yikes! If you are a Mac user you will need an updated adobe. Then you need to fully open the document to print it. Do not use the preview to print. Hope that helps!

My only suggestion would be to fill out your lessons then scan/send them to yourself. It would create a pdf of your filled out lessons. These were meant to be filled in after printing. I am not comfortable sharing the word document. Sorry!

Hi Carrie. I purchased this template today and I followed all of the instructions. I have a Mac and I read that I must have the latest version of Adobe before downloading the file. I did just that and for some reason I cannot read a thing. Everything is blurry. Before leaving a comment or rating, I of course wanted to contact you first. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching since 2000. I started out in 4th grade for two years then went on to teach 3rd grade for 6 years. I have been teaching 1st grade ever since and have loved every bit of it. I believe all elementary teachers need to experience 1st grade for at least a year....there is so much learning and growing going on...it is amazing!
