Thanks for the question.

The basic difference is that the K-1 has an area to track early literacy skills (letter id, letter sound, rhyming, blending, etc.) and the K-2 does not have this section.

I have uploaded a preview of the K-1 so you can compare (I didn't realize I left that out - so thanks for bringing this to my attention) :D

FYI: After working with some other teachers last year I have prepared yet another version - it is called Reading Conference Record (Reading Continuum and Running Record Tips) - this has more teacher reference tips however the place to record quarterly formal running record summaries is removed (this is available on both the K-1 and the K-2 versions).

Sorry for the confusion, but there are so many options that I wasn't sure which teachers would find most useful - so I am posting them all :D

Hi Sherry,

The file is what is known as a .pdf file so it is not editable - so basically it is a photo of a text page and hence not editable - so the font cannot be changed. As for printing options - these depend on the type of printer and software that comes with your printer. I can print landscape or portrait and I can also adjust whether I print back to back. If you want to make it smaller you can adjust the size it appears on the screen in the Adobe Reader software (usually at top of screen and it has a percentage box), then take a screen capture and print it.

HI Allison,

Sorry to hear you are having a problem. I think the problem is that this is an Interactive whiteboard file and a pdf file. If you don't have an IWB then you probably would not have success. Here are a couple of options.

Option 1. The interactive software is FREE from Promethean is is called ActivInspire. You can download the software and then view it and use it on your PC. If you have a document camera you can then use it to show as a whole class experience.

Option 2. Feel free to email me at cathyhink@gmail.com and I can send the whole thing as a pdf which will work on any platform.

Please email me if you have any other questions and concerns. I want you to be happy with this product and will do all I can to help.

Hi there,

Gosh sorry for your frustration. Let's see - this is created for the Promethean Activboard. First, I would check your software and see if it has in import feature and try to import the promethean file that I created.(I can import smartboard files or I can import files as pdf files).

If your smartboard does not allow you to import Promethean Activboard files but does allow you to import pdf files then email me at cathyhink@gmail.com and let me which math product you bought and I will send it to you in pdf format. You can then import it and open it from there.

Here are a couple of options.

What I do each year is that I open the original file. Before we even begin to enter or change it, I click on the "File" tab and "Save As" and rename the file for that particular year, i.e. "Calendar 2012 2013". Then when it is time to close it - you can tap/click on the (X) and it will ask if you want to save the changes (you reply "yes") and voila, your changes are saved. Once the flipchart is open and you added information you can also click on the "File" tab and click on "Save" and the chart with data will be preserved.

Hi (again),

I researched your question on the Promethean site and from what I can tell it would be "hit or miss" on trying to use a flip chart created with Promethean ActivInspire on other Interactive Whiteboards. If you have "tech" people in your district you may want to check with the. For me, when I download a Smartboard file, I use an "Import" feature to load it into Promethean - sometimes I have to clean it up because Promethean uses different features than the Smartboards. If your smartboard has an import feature that may work. If you want to try it, email me at cathyhink@gmail.com and let me know what you want a small sample of flip chart and I will send it to you and you can see for yourself.

This is made for Promethean - let me look into how to save it in smartboard file. Woud you please email me at cathyhink@gmail.com and give me what file extension you see on smartboard files? In the meantime I'll some hunting on this side :D

Try this to open - open your ActivInspire software first, then click on "Open a Flipchart" and open the Daily Math Flipchart you bought -- that should work. If not email me and we will figure it out. cathyhink@gmail.com

Hi Mary - I have completed the calendars for the activboard for August through July 2013 -- check it out if you are still interested. I have also posted a new beginning of the year Count and Match and Count and Write activity. I hope you like them!

You can download the previews of each which has two or three pages so you can take a test drive to see if you like them before purchase.

I will indeed be making more Word Work sets, in the mean time you may want to check out this seller who has a set of digraphs and blends (Wild About Teaching - Lacey Yates) and then search "Digraphs are Out of this World" it is a Star Wars themed word sort for sh, ch, th.

I hope this helps and check back later for my additions.

Oh yeah, one more tip (starfall.com) has interactive help for those digraphs in their Reading Section (#2).

I am the Reading Resource Specialist at my school. Our county is going to roll out the CCSS in first and second next year. I will be doing a professional development for K-5 teachers to assist with implementing the standards. I purchased your first grade set, (as I am a former first grade teacher and want this for my files). I know that your K set was a freebie. Please know that I will not pass on my purchased item, but will guide them towards purchasing their own for classroom use. Any chance you will be creating 2-5? I know it will be helpful for those teachers. Also, am I correct in understanding that I can show them what I have found, but not pass out for others to use? If not, please clarify so that I share in an appropriate and acceptable manner. Thanks! Love your checklist! I especially love the form that has the standard highlighted in a different color.

I do have one filled in for Kindergarten. The timeline is for one school year. I jot in the various dates or write in the name of the lessons. I can scan mine and then email it to you if you want to email me. My email is cathyhink@gmail.com.

Many of the items in the Common Core State Standards are aligned to our curriculum here in Washington. Some standards however, (for me it was poetry and long vowels), I realized I had not covered yet. So, I looked for items on TpT to fill in those voids. Does that make sense?
