Cecilia received an International Baccalaureate Diploma in High School which requiring mastering written and conversational Spanish. She earned 17 hours of college level teaching credits at Western Connecticut State University and University of Houston. Cecilia has taught math and science SAT courses for Princeton Review and religion classes for 1st grade and middle schoolers. She has worked as a tutor for middle school through college level students.
Cecilia gears her teaching method toward the age level of the student. In this DVD, you can see the creativity which comes from years of production experience and being around young children. There are fun, adorable puppets and lots of children in the videos. She also made sure the colors were bright and inviting. And of course, she included music. In her classroom experience, she uses a variety of materials from hands on exercises and crafts to video and audio aids. She incorporates a multitude of exercises to keep it interesting while illustrating real world applications.
Cecilia's Let's Learn Spanish with Frank & Paco, Volume 1 is a Dr. Toy Top 10 Educational Product for 2008. Cecilia has been recognized for her broadcast work by the Associated Press and Houston Press. She was a top student in her graduating class at both Texas A & M University, University of Houston and at Harlingen High School.

Cecilia grew up in the Rio Grande Valley which is in the southernmost part of Texas. As a young child she lived in Brownsville, in a house less than 2 miles from the border crossing into Mexico. Later, she moved to Harlingen, which is also in the Rio Grande Valley. Growing up and working in the Rio Grande Valley, Cecilia was surrounded by the rich culture of the Spanish speaking people of south Texas. She loved to hear the beautiful Spanish language and is still enjoying learning more about it. Cecilia obtained a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Texas A&M University and has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Houston. While working for KRIV TV in Houston, she produced numerous features and specials about the environment and weather and also produced a monthly series promoting adoption of children. Cecilia is an advocate for adoption and is involved with PRISMs, an organization promoting awareness about Smith-Magenis Syndrome. She has an adopted daughter, who has Smith-Magenis Syndrome. Cecilia also has a step-daughter, who is also adopted.
