Althought I thought this unit was very well put together, I am not sure it is appropriate for first grade. The answer lines are a little too small and close together which makes it difficult for younger writers to use. Other than that I think its great.

I'm so glad you like it! I created the bee myself using Word, so he is not really a jpg. or png. file. Let me see if I can play around with it a little and format him so that you can use it without any hiccups. It might take me a bit with my first day back being Tuesday and weekend packed with family events, but if I have a spare moment I'll work on it. I'll send you a message on here when it is ready! Okay....due to my limited software resources I am not able to create a picture file that would allow you to manipulate the image freely. The file I was able to create has a white background and you cannot flip the image. If this is acceptable please send me an email at gabfam@charter.net and I can send it to you. I do ask that you not share this file, or use it to create materials that you would sell. You can create personal classroom materials using the image. If you are interested let me know.

Are you opening it on a Mac? Sometimes the default will be Preview and that can cause it to go blurry. Try opening it with Adobe Acrobat reader. If that doen't work let me know and I can try sending it to you through email. :)
