TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching English Literature and Language in Ontario, Canada for 14 years. I have taught all high school grades and levels of English in the Ontario public school system.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style of teaching varies with the subject matter and the students. It is my purpose to help students develop proficient reading and writing skills as they become modern, critical thinkers.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Shining Moments: 1. Students returning to tell me that I've prepared them well for post-secondary education. 2. Students telling me that they miss having me as a teacher. 3. Students coming to my classroom to visit during lunch. 4. Students who tell me they have never read a novel themselves prior to my class.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Currently, I am taking a Master of Educational Technology program at UBC. I am qualified to teach with an Ontario Bachelor of Education at the Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels. I have my Specialist in English as well as Intermediate History qualifications.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love cross-country skiing, hiking, and the great outdoors.
