I have my kids put them in their interactive notebooks in their reference section. Yes, it is a lot, but they are all words they have to know! I did try to section the content so that lines, shapes, 3 d figures, etc. were grouped together to help students quickly locate what they were looking for. Thanks for the feedback!

Good morning! I bought your Monster Munch games and love them. I printed them and laminated them and then my 11 year caught an error. Each of the games, says, "determine the triangle to cover up....same triangle you need...." That works for the triangle game, but the not the others.
My children will really love playing these games - thanks!!!

I taught Special Ed. in Knoxville up until 2011 at Karns Klementary. I got Wilson Level 1 certified and absolutely love the program. I am now in Maryland and Wilson is "out" unfortunately. I can still use it with a student given permission. I was interested in getting you Wilson /Fundations active board. My memory is that Knox County used the smart boards in Special ed. rooms and Promethian in reg. ed rooms. I currently use Promethian and wanted to check with you about the format and if you know whether or not your product can be used with both. I have been wanting to make my own flip chart for this purpose, but have not yet learned how to set this up.

Sylvia - This is a Promethean Board ActivInspire file. I am not sure if it is transferrable to a Smartboard Notebook file as I have never used a Smartboard. Hope this helps - you may want to do a google search to see if this is possible. I know Smart files can be imported to Promeathean, but not sure if it works the other way around. Hope this helps!

I just have them place them next to each other to create the shape and then have them sketch the shape into their math journals. This way, you will be able to reuse the straws!

I created it on a PC using the ActivInspire software. Do you have ActivInspire? I am not sure if there are any issues with it being created on a pc, but opened on a mac. I wouldn't think there should be a problem since it is being saved as a .flp file. If you don't already have ActivInspire, you can download a copy of it from www.prometheanplanet.com.

Thanks for your suggestions! I have posted an updated file for 2nd/3rd grade. I did leave "plane" on there, but I did make the other changes you suggested. The polygons are also listed in ascending order by their sides (triangles, then quadrilaterals, pentagon, etc.) For a challenge, I did add "decagon" for 10 sides.

It is a Promethean Board ActivInspire file. You just download it and open it with ActivInspire, so you can save it to a flash drive or to your school computer. Personally, I use DropBox so I don't have to worry about losing my flash drives! If I update a file at home, it's automatically updated at school!
If you don't have ActivInspire, you can download a personal use copy of it at www.prometheanplanet.com and just use the mouse to move things if you don't have Promethean Board. You can upgrade to the professional version for free if you have an Activboard or other Promethean Board.

The only issue with this is that the concept behind Fundations is to use a multisensory approach with the cards. We asked in the training if we could do things like this and they told us they want the kids to be able to touch and manipulate the cards. What did they tell you?

I used this flipchart in addition to the kids using their boards/letters. I used this to model what the kids should be doing on their boards. At times, I took it a step further and marked the syllables/vowel sounds using the white pen.
After modeling this a few times, then the kids would come up and lead the class by pulling letters and saying the sounds while their classmates did the same on their boards.
As for manipulating the cards in the pocket chart, I found that in my classroom, it was more time consuming to rearrange the cards that the other kids were getting bored. With the flipchart, the kids are still engaged and it only takes a quick click to reset the chart for the next student.

You can use it on the computer if you download the Active Inspire software (free!) from www.prometheanplanet.com You do not have to have a pro board to use the software as it will run on your pc. You will, however, have limited capabilities, but none that will prevent you from using this flipchart!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
This is my 3rd full year of teaching and my 2nd year in teaching 4th grade. My first year of teaching was in 3rd grade and I spent over 300 hours in various classrooms during my college practicum field experience.
MY TEACHING STYLE
My teaching style is usually hands on and related to real life experiences. I also like to make sure my students understand the "why" behind what we are learning and when they will actually USE the skills later in life.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
With Tennessee's new rigorous evaluation standards, I have consistently earned 4's & 5's on my evaluations. Additionally, I have earned a 5 on my Tennessee State Value Added scores. An overall score of 3 is considered to be a "Rock Solid" teacher.
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
After spening 15 years working in Human Resources for a large corporation, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in 2008.
