I am currently a 4th grade teacher in Nixa, MO, and I love it! I spent six of my 20 years in public education as an instructional specialist, but my passion is teaching students. In addition, I've worked with teachers at conferences and seminars in over 30 states since 2002.
I integrate differentiated instruction, brain-based learning, inquiry-based learning, Math with Meaning, and Four-Blocks (Guided Reading, Writer's Workshop, Self-Selected Reading, Working with Words) into my lessons.
I'd love for you to join my on-line college course, Differentiating K-12 Assessments. You can earn one credit hour. http://www.ed2go.com/sde/online_course/4da/detail/Differentiating_K_12_Assessments.html
I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Missouri State University with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Texas-Wesleyan University, and a second Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University.
My family includes my husband of 24 years and two sons. My oldest is finishing up his senior year at Missouri State University. He'll graduate with a teaching degree. My youngest is a junior in high school and loves the outdoors.
