My download of this item is displayed on a total of 7 pages instead of the stated 4 pages and the food graph question with the Xs is skewed. The food labels are not lined up under the proper column of Xs and there are no graph boxes as displayed in your preview. I have a MAC computer and have tried to open this with Pages and also with Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader states that it is not a supported file. Not sure what I am doing wrong - any help with correcting this problem would be appreciated.

I'm so sorry, Maureen, but I don't have answer keys and at this time I just don't have time to create them for all of my products. I just returned to teaching full time after 11 years of jobsharing, I am at a new STEM school going through all kinds of new trainings, and I have 3 young children of my own at home. I have never needed them because we do them together in class, or the kids work on them and we go over them together, so I just never made answer keys. Plus, often times there are open ended questions or questions that could have various answers which makes an answer key very difficult to create as I'm sure you've seen. I am SO SO SO sorry, but I just don't have the time to create and add them to my products right now. I hope that you will still find them useful. :)

Thank you, I am glad you find my products useful in your classroom! I have never made answer keys for my workbooks because we either work on them together in my classroom or the kids do them and then we go over them together. One of the reasons I don't provide them for my buyers is because alot of answers are open ended and can vary, and also because some questions that really seem black and white can vary sometimes. I teach those kinds of skills according to what will be expected on our district benchmarks and state tests, and I would not want to mislead anyone else with answers that fit my needs but might vary a bit for others. That's why I figure that the workbooks are more of a tool for everyone to adjust as needed, rather than something with answers that are either right or wrong. I hope that makes sense! Thank you for your question. My students do really well on the state test and our district benchmarks as well. My class average on our 1st quarter LA benchmark was 80% and it's a test that looks very similar to the state test. I typically have at least one third of my class score advanced on the state test, with most of the rest at the proficient level. My main focus is my language arts workbooks, but I also use other tools like daily reading comprehension passages, daily language review type activities, computer/Smartboard games, hands on games, and a touch of the curriculum materials. I would really LOVE an answer key for the Phonics Library Second Grade Theme 1 task sheets I purchased. Any chance you have them? Hi, I love that you cover so many of the skills that are needed by the students. My fellow teachers and I would purchase every one but we are finding we really need the answer keys. You do have these? We are disagreeing on what the answers might be and if we are the children certainly would be. We would like to see what the ideas were that you were thinking when you wrote these. It also suprised us that you never taught 4th grade yet wrote these all. They do seem very difficult. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks

Thank you for your question! I'm so sorry but I do not have answer keys for these workbooks. I don't make answer keys because for many of the questions, answers may vary. Also, having never taught 4th grade, I wouldn't want to steer someone the wrong way if they teach a concept differently than I would expect it to be taught...does that make sense? I collaborated with 2 4th grade teachers and used the 4th grade CST released test questions as I wrote these, which is how I learned what concepts would need to be covered. I have the same workbooks for my own grade (2nd) and I don't even have answer keys for them because I never grade the workbooks....I have the students work on them individually, then we go over answers together or we just do them together sometimes. Quite often, we do come across answers that are questionable which opens up great discussions that would not be possible if there was an answer key. It also offers a great way to prepare students for tests where there seem to be two possible answers....we are then able to discuss what to do in these situations and how different publishers have different views on correct answers sometimes so we have to be prepared and have strategies ready for these situations. If I had the time, I would make answer keys for the sections that have black and white answers, but I just returned to work full time and with 3 kids of my own my time is pretty limited. I have just always figured that purchasing teachers would use them as they see fit, and make an answer key if they felt it was necessary. I'm so sorry that I can't help you more, I hope you might find them useful even without an answer key. What edition of HM do you have? Some of the page #s don't go along with the story. I didn't discover this until I was working with the kids. I really like the questions and the set up of the workbook, just need some help with coinciding with the book. Thank you

Hi Maura, I'm so sorry but I never made answer keys for the workbooks or the reader's/phonics library products. In my class we either do them together or I have the kids do them and then we check answers together, so I just never made answer keys. Plus, alot of the questions are open ended and answers can vary. If I ever do make answer keys, I will add them to the products and notify buyers to redownload. So sorry that I have nothing for you at this time, but I do appreciate your purchases! :)

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for 16 years. I taught 1st grade for 4 years, a 1/2 combo for 1 year, and 2nd grade for the last 11 years.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I think that a good teacher must maintain a balance. A good teacher provides a lot of daily skill and drill spiral review type activities balanced with real life, hands on, creative activities that challenge students to use their minds. A good teacher must plan great activities and lessons that are tailored to the needs of his/her students. More than anything, a good teacher must see the best in all his/her students and work hard to bring out those qualities!
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
The awards come daily as the "light" comes on in my students' brains! I love to create my own supplemental curriculum and see how much it helps my students.
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I have a bachelor's degree in liberal studies, and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction. I am credentialed by the state of California.

I am married and have three beautiful children who probably wish Mommy didn't spend so much time creating new curriculum!
