I assumed that since it said first, second and third that some of it would pertain to my age group, but it is way too young to use with them. Hi! The tree map is like a kwl chart. You can use it as a pre assessment to find out what students already know about the topic. Students write what the topic can, has, and are. For example, if the topic is rainforest students may write:
CAN: provide oxygen, give us food, produce plants to make medicine etc
HAVE: trees, animals, rain, etc
ARE: in the Amazon, the oldest living ecosystem, tall dense jungles, etc

Hi, I just wanted to tell you that your literature study for The Tale of Peter Rabbit is excellent! WOW! I think there is a typo on page 15, ....some of the verb tenses are not the same on page 29 and 32. I am not sure, but maybe it should say If I have, I will or if using the If I had, I would.....verbs should agree. Probably would sound better both future or both past....

Hello Christine, Thank you for putting together the monthly spelling choice menus. I would like your permission to modify a couple of things so it adapts to my classroom, such as, I have the kids do their homework in a spelling notebook, so I'd like to change "write the activity at the top of the page" and add "in your spelling notebook" and we use 15 words in 2nd grade instead of 10. So, little changes like that. I hope that's OK with you. Also, I wanted to share this with my grade level partner - there are only 2 of us in 2nd grade. I see in other posts you said it's OK. thanks!!
