The textbook and other notes which students read first are not provided, nor are any of the folders with examples that are used in the questions. I sent a note to the Seller when I realized this, but received no response. This lesson is mostly unusable without the missing examples, etc.

I did not receive a note from you. I believe it is clear on the first page of the sample that our students use a desktop publishing textbook to go with these lessons. I also stated that I have created folders for the students to use by cutting pages from magazines. If you would like more clarification on this, please feel free to contact me.

This is very impractical....too much color emphasis makes it too expensive for 87 students....plan to try to eliminate the color bars....not a good buy....

I used this to begin our year this year. I divided my students into 8 groups and assigned each a part of speech. Each group created a PowerPoint to teach the class and a poster for the bulletin board. I also used "Schoolhouse Rock" to reinforce the parts of speech. My students enjoyed filling out the booklet as each group gave their presentation - they felt like they had some control over choosing the vocabulary and sentences, yet were reviewing and preparing for the year. They also like the idea of color coding the parts of speech, too. A fun way to start the year!

Yes, the allusions are listed by chapter. They include people such as Thomas Chippendale; groups such as The Free African Society; concepts such as The Continental. My students had fun with this project, and enjoyed being the experts as we read the book.

I saw your posting on the Forum page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. I left you a rating. Well done! Since you are new to the TPT world, here are a few suggestions that might help you to better market your products.
Add some clipart to add color or just color some of your font. (I always do, even on high school math tests.) For some reason buyers like color on the original even though they may copy your product in black and white. I noticed that a couple of your product did not include cover pages. Create a cover page for each of your products (even one pagers) which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers. You might also add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page for the teacher. (How do you use this? When? Etc.) List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product.
Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also number your pages. Finally, unless you want your products revised (I do for my tests) save everything in a PDF format as it is harder to change.
It is important that we see what others are doing; so, feel free to look at any or all of my freebies listed below to gather some ideas. If you care to, a rating or any feedback you might have would be great.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching middle school/high school for many years. I have taught math, ELA, social studies, business, and technology. This has given me the chance to integrate multiple subjects into projects my students do. I prepare geography projects with an eye to the ELA standards, and ELA projects that incorporate math concepts.
MY TEACHING STYLE
My classes are project based - I'm a guide in the classroom. I have developed many projects for my students. Most of these projects are independent work - students have the chance to use their own best learning style to acquire and share information.
