I have taught general music to Kindergarten through graduate music courses at 2 Florida universities.Florida State and Florida Atlantic Universities. I taught at FAU for 34 years. I am past president of the FEMEA (Florida Elementary Music Educators Association) and served on the FEMEA Board for over 6 years. I wrote the Alma Mater for Florida Atlantic University and published 3 albums of childrens songs in 1975-78. They are being used by Florida music teachers even today. I am currently retired enjoying the outdoor sports of my adopted home state of Colorado.
I am a "hands on" musician who plays guitar, mandolin, recorders, keyboard, saxophone, harmonica.
I was inducted into the Florida Collegiate Music Educators National Conference Hall of Fame in January 1999. A member of Kappa Kappa Psi at the University of Florida and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (Beta Tau Chapter) at the University of Miami. Also a member of Phi Delta Kappa
Attended University of Florida and played 1st Trumpet in the U of Fla. Fightin' Gator Band. Served in US Air Force Bands in California and Newfoundland where I sang lead in Parkaires Barbershop Quartet. Later I was the original lead singer for the Suntones who later were selected as the International Championship BarberShop Quartet. Received my bachelors in Music Education from the U of Miami in 1958. After 3 years of Elementary Music teaching in Dade County Florida, I attended Florida State University where I received my Masters degree in Music Education and taught 6 years in the FSU Laboratory School.
I am so blessed to have been a teacher and a learner all through my life. Thank you Lord for sustaining me and guiding me.
