I am a TN Academic Specialist working with Focus schools. I have been looking for a way to help teachers use higher order questioning. I love to have rewards that don't cost a thing, but that students will look forward to earning. For example:
* lunch bunch- eat with your teacher and everyone else that chose this reward (I choose 1 day per month)
* lunch buddies- eat lunch next to your buddy
* slide off sneakers- no sneakers for the day (in the classroom only)
* no homework pass
* special seat- use a special seat/chair for the day
* "smarty pants"-smart board helper for the day
* share a story- visit the principal or another teacher's class to read a library book for them.
* Friday Fun-Read- choose or bring a book to class for a fun read aloud at the end of the day.
