I recently bought this product and noticed a couple of minor problems. For standards 4.RL. 6 and 4.RL.7, the title is covering up some of the standard number. Do you think you could adjust this? Also, I see two slides for 4.L.1a with relative pronouns. Should that be or is it an accidental duplicate? Love the job you did! Any chance you could add a blank slide with the background for this set and for the 4th grade math ones I purchased? That way if we want to rewrite or add anything, we could have a template to do so? Just an idea! :)

Hi! I'm so excited with this purchase. When I downloaded the file, the bottom portion of the cards are cut off. I cannot see the black outline the entire way around the cards. When I print & try to cut them out, they end up being different sizes. Will this be fixed in a future update?

Thanks for asking! This is how I use it, but you can do it any way you'd like.
I use it in centers most of the time. For the spelling and vocabulary, I have the students roll the die for a spelling or vocab word. They need to complete the activity for that word. Then, they move on the the next word and roll again. They continue doing this until they are out of time. I usually have them do a minimum of 5 words. Some of the activities can take a long time.
For the dictionary and thesaurus, I will use the same method as above using spelling words or vocabulary words.
With the reading fiction or non-fiction: I do this depending on what type of story we read in class that week. I ask them in their center to roll and complete the activity. Many kids are able to do more than one in the 15 minutes.

No, you don't need to cut the cards in half. You would cut on the dotted lines and each student will get a full card.
If you take a look at the first thumbnail image, for example, the student with the first card would say "I have Tallahassee, who has the capital of Hawaii?" All of the students will look at their cards. Whoever has the capital of Hawaii will read their card: "I have Honolulu, who has the capital of Illinois." Then the person with the capital of Illinois will read their card. this will continue until someone asks the capital of Tennessee and goes back to the first person.
Does this clarify the directions for you? If not, please e-mail me and I'll make sure to type out a more detailed description of how to play. The students really like this game! I time them and see how fast they can do it and they try to beat their time!

I actually started them last summer, but was not super happy with how the first few pages turned out. I felt like I had too much text that they wouldn't be able to read on their own. I'm going to attempt it again this upcoming summer since I don't really create products that I can't use for my own class during the school year. This is a wonderful unit! I was curious, the grade levels are 2nd -5th. Would you use the quizzes for 2nd grade? Some of the questions seem a little too hard. Or would you use them more for a discussion guide with this age? Thanks for your feedback.

Thank you for asking the question! I use them with my 3rd grade class during the second half of the year, and they don't have any problems answering the questions independently right after we read the chapter as a class. I also make sure to stop frequently during the chapters to make sure we have a discussion about each of the questions before I pass out the quiz. This makes it easier for my 3rd graders to take it on their own.
If you believe the quizzes are too difficult, I would suggest doing exactly what you said, use it as a discussion guide and complete it as a class! It might even be easier for them if you put them in groups and let them discuss the answers before writing them down. To differentiate, you can also let the students pick a certain number of questions to answer (maybe 2 or 3) on the page instead of doing the whole thing!

No these are brand new listings. I do previously have a chevron and circle lace in rainbow but this colors are slightly different.
I do zip my files but these listings are almost 100MB by themselves so I can't even combine them into a combo pack of 2. I don't know how a few of my competitors do it since they offer almost 200 pages in a listing. :/

You probably already tried this, but the only way I know to do it is by compressing the folder (which I know you do because of the other products I bought from you). Maybe you can even do two different sets for $25 each. I'll definitely look into buying the packages. The only question I have is are your previous backgrounds going to be listed in this? I already have all your others and don't want to buy twice. :)

I teach with Everyday Math and I know that they use a lot of non-traditional methods. I honestly didn't even think about gearing the assessments towards that curriculum. I love the long vowel cards, but I would rather that they begin with lowercase letters. That is the way I teach so that when we begin proper nouns and special days they understand the difference. I don't mean to be critical. I do love your work. Thanks!

I definitely understand that you would want them to begin with a lowercase letter. Unfortunately, I got a new computer last Friday because my old one was slow, would freeze, and sometimes randomly restart. I transferred everything I saved, but somehow I only have the PDF files for this and no longer have the editable version. This actually happened with quite a few items that I made over the summer. I was so disappointed when I found this out! :( I'm sorry that I couldn't be of any help. If I could, I would be more than happy to change it for you! Please let me know if there is anything else I can do!

I downloaded the Common Core "I Can" Statements for 6th grade and realized that there is not a page or pages for 6.W.6--Explain how an author develops the point of view of the narrator or speaker in a text. This also includes the information we need to teach about tone and mood as well as identifying different types of points-of-view.
Did you create these and for whatever reason I didn't receive the entire download?

I looked back at my document and I have 4 different pages for the standard 6.W.6; however, 6.W.6 is on using technology to produce writing. I went back onto the Common Core website and confirmed it.
I went through all of the pages in the I CAN posters and did see what you are looking for, but it is under a different standard number. I have it phrased almost exactly as you wrote it. Take a look at 6.RI.6. I also see another standard, 6.RL.4 that relates to the tone of the passage.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching elementary school for the past five years. At the beginning of my career, I taught in the suburbs of Chicago starting out in 3rd grade for two years and moving up to 5th for my last year. After moving to Ohio, I quickly obtained a position teaching 3rd grade again! I love third graders and the opportunity to do a job that I love!
