TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm the co-founder of Collaborative Educational Solutions. I am currently a K-12 Technology Staff Developer helping to run our district's 1:1 initiatve. I've also taught middle and high school English. In 2008 I founded the non-profit organization “Project: Global Inform”, and I wrote "The 2.0 Teacher" in 2009. I received my MS in Global and International Education from Drexel University, and I am a certified Microsoft Innovative Educator.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe students should learn through inquiry-driven experiences, and that the main role of a 21st century educator should be a classroom facilitator and learning coach. Project-based learning can (and should) be aligned to the common core standards. All of my projects are CCSS aligned.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

AJ Juliani is a K-12 Staff Developer in the Wissahickon School District. Juliani taught middle school and high school English at Wissahickon and is the co-founder of Collaborative Educational Solutions. He also founded Project: Global Inform, and writes for the education group blog EducationIsMyLife.com. As co-founder of CES, Juliani is working towards solving some of biggest issues in education through collaboration. Juliani spent two summers in South Africa and Swaziland, volunteering at an AIDS clinic, running kids camps, preparing a community structure to be used for a medical clinic, church, school, and food shelter. Since then Juliani has taken on the role of Webmaster and education consultant for Swaziland Relief His first e-book “The 2.0 Teacher” was published by Six Voices and is available on iTunes (in the App Store) and Amazon. The book explains why using 2.0 resources is necessary in a 21st century classroom, and how to implement this technology in the classroom immediately. Juliani received his MS Degree from Drexel University in “Global and International Education”. He founded a non-profit organization – Project: Global Inform – that gives students the power to do something about human rights violations. This will be an action model curriculum for peace education programs. Juliani has piloted PGI at Wissahickon High School the past four years. AJ Juliani is also involved in the “Flat Classroom Project”, a global collaborative project that joins together middle and senior high school students from around the world. This project is part of the emerging trend in internationally-aware schools to embrace a holistic and constructivist educational approach to work collaboratively with others around the world in order to create students who are competitive and globally-minded. As a member of various professional learning communities Juliani strives to engage and inspire his students everyday while preparing them for the 21st century.
