Heather C. re: Plant and Animal Cells Unit
Can I see a preview of the lab? I do not like the one that comes with my curriculum. Or even a description of it would be fine. I'd be happy to purchase if I knew more about the lab! :)

There are several labs. One uses a raw egg over several days to show osmosis, another uses starch and iodine to show diffusion. The items used are inexpensive and easy to acquire.

I saw your store on the home page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. Since you are asking for some feedback, here are a few suggestions that might help you to better market your products.

Add some clipart to add color or just color some of your font. (I do even on high school resources.) For some reason buyers like color on the original even though they may copy your product in black and white. Also, create a cover page for each of your products which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers. You might also add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page for the teacher. (How do use this? Why? Etc.) List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product.

Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also number your pages. Finally, unless you want your products revised (I do for my tests) save everything in a PDF format as it is harder to change.

My husband suggests that the font be larger and that you put in lines on which the students can write their answers.

It is important that we see what others are doing; so, feel free to look at any or all of my freebies listed below to gather some ideas. If you care to, a rating or any feedback you might have would be great.

I am now your 3rd follower, and if you would like, you are welcome to follow my store as well: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/SciPi/Products

The best of luck as you sell on TPT!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 30+ years of teaching experience: 21 years middle school; 9 years 4th thru 6th grade all subjects. I have been teaching long enough to administer three different state standardized tests. I taught elementary school for nine years and have been teaching middle school for 21 years. Although I have taught all subjects, I now teach middle school science, which I enjoy immensely!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Since I attended middle and high school when instructors lectured to rather than allowed students to participate, I teach more with hands-on and inquiry lessons with inclusion of other core subjects to make real life connections. I use varied methods to review that include differentiated learning and group labs and projects. I try to teach students to problem-solve and ask questions that make them think outside the box.
