Yes! In 2nd grade we also have a Launching/Small moments unit and the only thing that would change is the type of paper you would provide for your students because we would want them to have more lines in their pre-stapled booklets. But definitely, in the beginning of the year, we are trying to familiarize them with the structure of WW so the teaching points will be the same. I am currently teaching in LAUSD and in October my colleague and I will be having a Writing Workshop K-6 institute if you're interested in attending and also, some Saturday workshops for teachers too! TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am currently a Transitional Kinder teacher who has taught from K-4th grade. During the past five summers, I've attended the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University NYC and have been able to consult teachers in starting their Writer's and Reader's Workshop.

It has taken a couple of years, but I've implemented a complete Balanced Literacy Program with Interactive Writing/Reading, Shared Writing/Reading, Guided Reading, Book Clubs, Strategy Groups, and Words Their Way. It's amazing that my Transitional Kinder students are able to sustain 30 minutes of reading and 30 minutes of writing each and every day!!
