Hi Teaching Queen. I'm not sure when I'll finish Unit 6. There will be an 6A and a 6B. Unit 6A has a dragons theme and it might be ready in another 2 weeks. Unit 6B will have a mythology theme and probably won't be finished until the middle of June. My school is out the beginning of June so I won't get to use the myself until next year. I'm so sorry they won't both be ready for this school year, but some of the units took longer for me to put together than I originally planned. So glad you've found them useful. I hope you had a great time with your first year in third grade. It's my favorite age.

I'd like to help you out with your request but I'm already committed to finishing up the third grade CC units 6A and 6B. Those units could take me into June to complete.
Also, I'm not sure I would be able to find those specific books. We don't have them at my school so I'd have find them at local libraries.
So, I guess my answer is I'll try, but I can't promise to complete all the study guides by the end of June.

Thank you for your question and I'm so glad you like the units. It's been a challenge, but I've had fun putting them together for my team and other third grade teachers.
I'm putting the finishing touches on Unit 5B right now. I plan on having it posted later this week.
Then I'll start on Unit 6. Not sure yet if I'll make it into 2 or 3 units. Unfortuntely, I'm not going to be able to finish Unit 6 before most schools are out for the summer. But, at least you'll have all 6 for your planning for next year.

In unit 3C the only text I used was "So You Want to be an Inventor" by St. George. The activities on pages 14-23 go with that book. I couldn't find any good texts on a 3rd or 4th grade level to use with the whole class so I decided to write the Kids Weekly Express. I used that as the text for the rest of the unit. When I wrote the Kids Weekly Express I used several books and online sites about inventors. Units 3A and 3B have reading biographies so I wanted to do something a little different with unit 3C.

The units have been a labor of love this year. It's been fun but challenging to put them together with activities I've used in my classroom over the past 25 years.
I'd be happy to share my daily schedule, but that has always been my biggest struggle. There is never enough time to get everything in. I've tried so many schedules through the years and have never found a perfect one.

Thank you so much! I'm really glad other teachers are liking these units. Unit 5A is just hours away from being finished. I'm going to work like crazy tonight and tomorrow to get it posted by tomorrow afternoon. Unit 5 is called "A Feast of Words from a Planet Called Earth . . . And Beyond" Quite a title from the people who put together the Common Core Curriculum Maps. Unit 5A kind of focuses on Earth and Unit 5B will have a focus on the planets, or universe. It was a bit of a challenge getting those ideas to work out with the reading, language and writing activities. Hope everyone enjoys the activities.

Thank you for your question. I'm so glad you like the units and sorry the numbering is a little confusing. I've written them a little out of order this year because I tried coordinating them with some of our existing curriculum and special events. The numbering goes with the units from the Common Core Curriculum Maps from CommonCore.org. Each unit is supposed to be a 6-week unit. Putting together 6 weeks of reading, language and writing activities was a lot to plan and create. So I wrote the units in smaller parts. Unit 1 ended up as Unit 1A and 1B, each being a 3 week unit. Unit 2 is also divided into 2A and 2B. A couple of the units fit more naturally into 2 week units so I have Units 3A, 3B and 3C and 4A, 4B and 4C. Unit 5A is almost finished and it will be followed by Unit 5B. I hope to finish the year with Units 6A and 6B.
Once all the units are finished I may look into bundling them into one complete set for the year. I may also bundle the smaller units into one for each unit. This year I've wanted to get each part posted on my shop page as quickly as possible so other third grade teachers could have access to them through the year as I was able to complete them.

I wanted to be finished with all 6 units by early spring, but I'm not going to make that deadline. Some of the units have taken longer than I expected to put together. (And it's been a really busy school year.) But the good news is, all 6 Units will be ready to go for next school year.

Thanks you for your interest. I've been really busy at school these past few weeks, so I'm afraid it probably won't be finished until the end of March. I'm working on Unit 5A, which focuses on Planet Earth with fiction lit studies, multi-meaning words, synomyms (shades of meaning) and writing genres. I'm trying to get it finished by the end of February. Then I'll start on Unit 5B which will have more of a space/planets theme. I really wanted to have all these units finished by early spring, but I guess I won't make it. Sorry I'm running late, but so happy to hear you're enjoying the units. Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you don't care for the graphic images I used in my posters. The sets already have some really cute animals and school children. I'm afraid the only modifications I'll make is to change the font at a customer's request.

I'm so sorry you're having a problem. Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader. I've heard that updating that program solves most of the printing problems. I just tried a test print and it worked fine. Let me know inf the program updating doesn't work for you.

I'm glad you're enjoying my products. The CCSS Unit about the planets will be in Unit 5, which I hope to start working on in February. I'm working on Unit 3 right now. I don't have any specifics about what I'll include yet, but it will probably have wo parts, 5A and 5B. One of them will have a focus on the solor system. Thanks for asking about the units. They take more time than I expected to put together, but I'm enjoying the challenge.

I've been using the units out of numerical order because I wanted Unit 4 this fall. It worked so well with the Presidential elections. That's why Unit 3 isn't ready yet.
I'm working on Unit 3C right now and hope to have it posted by December 12. Sorry, but I don't think that will meet your 2 week timeline. I don't plan on using it until January. I'm preparing unit 3C first because it focuses on Civil Rights leaders which will work well with MLK Jr. Day in January. My goal is to have units 3A and 3B ready by the end of January. I've not thought of bundling the units, but will give it some thought. I have them separate because the files would be so large if I bundled them.

As far as I know, the third grade team is the only grade level using them this year. It's difficult making the transition because the budget doesn't support the purchase of more books. The teachers scramble to borrow books from other schools, but that isn't always enough. I think that's the main reason other grade levels aren't using the CC Curriculum Maps as much as the third grade team. I hope you have a great year.

I bought your first grade common core standards pack but in the pocket chart version. Come to find out after my evaluation with the Marzano System... our standards must be bigger for the students to see no matter where they are in the classroom. Is there any chance I could get them in the 8 1/2 by 11 without paying for them? I completely understand if you say no. Please let me know as soon as you get a chance. Thank you!

Hi, thank your for purchasing the booklet. So sorry if the pages are a little confusing.
The pages need to be run back to back. The cover page and page 1/10 go back to back, then p. 2/9 and 3/8 go back to back, that leaves p; 4/7 and 5/6 to copy back to back. After copying the 6 pages back to back you'll have 3 pieces of paper. Lay down the first page you copied with p. 1/10 facing up, then place the next page on top with p. 3/8 facing up. Place the last page on top with p 5/6 facing up. Pick up the three pieces of paper and fold them in half so p 5/6 forms the inside middle pages and you should see the cover on the front. You'll need to staple the book on the outside edge or in the middle if you have a long arm stapler.
I hope these directions make sense for you. Let me know if you need anymore help.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
A classroom is a magical place. Engaging, young students enter, ready to learn and mature, confident students leave, more ready to take on the world. My classroom has always been my home away from home. It's important to make a classroom a warm and inviting place for the students and teacher. After all, such a large part of your day and your year is spent within those four walls! I love watching those "light bulbs" go on as students grasp the big idea of the lessons I've planned. The challenge is planning lessons and units that are engaging and academically sound I love that challenge! Through my carreer I've seen many changes, but none as great as the transition to the new Common Core State Standards. My goal is to use my experiences to create engaging, meaningful, and academic based units and materials for classroom teachers. My 30+ years of teaching have included 1st grade, Special Education-Resource program (K-8), 4th grade and my true love- 3rd grade.
