I went back and looked at the question and realized that 2 answers would be correct. I have changed answer choice D to 800 therefore the answer now is A. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. After writing so many problems, it is sometimes difficult to see the mistakes. I am going to repost it now and you will get the updated version. I do not have answer keys at this time. When I created them, I did not make the answer keys because I wanted the my teachers who use them to work out the problems and be aware before they give the quiz of where students might make mistakes. I decided to sell them really cheap since I did not have the answer keys. I have received a lot of feedback requesting answer keys, and it is my intent to make a posting with answer keys. The problem right now is time to get it done. Hopefully this summer I can hash this out and create a new posting with an answer key.

I printed them out and plotted them, and I can see what you are saying, but because they are attached at a point, I think the better answer would still be rotation, instead of reflection. I don't thin k I have ever seen an example of a reflection in which they share a similar point, although I could be wrong.
I talked with my husband who is a high school math teacher and he said that all symmetrical figures that are rotated are going to be a rotation and a reflection across a diagonal. He said that reflections across a diagonal are not taught until Algebra II. He told me that the best thing to do would be to not have a regular polygon, so for now you can decide how deep you want to teach and accept both answers. In the meantime I will try to come up with figures to sketch that are not symmetrical. We will see if I can create something.

On the new STAAR Test How will we know where to put the gridable answers on the answer document for 5th grade. I know that if the students put it in the wrong place it will be wrong. We have been told several different answers.

It is my understanding that the students must grid it with the understanding of the correct place value. If the answer is 7 for example, it must be in the ones column. If they fill in zeroes or leave it blank in front of the answer it doesn't matter as long as the answer is in the correct place value. There is no decimal like the older grades.

I apologize, but I do not have an answer key for this product. One day I will be able to go back and create all the answer keys, but this time of the year, it is too crazy. In th epast when I have created things, I have not made answer keys because I want the teachers to work out the problems to be more aware of where the kids might make mistakes before they complete it. It just helps guide instruction. But after posting these things last year, I changed my mind and all new postings have answer keys. Just have not had the time to back track.

I bet that when I updated the review quizzes I accidentally saved it to the wrong place with the names so similar. I will fix that tonight and it should be sent out that it is updated correctly. The one i saw is totally different than the one you have for display. it shows to even have a different cover sheet than the one i purchased. The one on display is more of what i was looking for. Question #1 on test 1 was Marcy was baking some cookies that require ect. the ones that downloaded test 1 is which number is less than 652,1793,948. I buy just about everything you have for 5th grade. Really looking for volume problems. The performance descriptor from TEA says that to achieve academic excellence the students will need to solve application problems involving volume. I cannot find much about that. I think what they are saying is that there will be at least 4 application problems on volume.

I do have something on perimeter, area, and volume but I have not had the time to get it all compiled yet. I think the TEK will have about 4 questions, but they will be a mix of application of perimeter, area, and volume as well as measurement. I will see if I can get that posted soon. They must be able to use the formula, so many of the answer choices will be in formula format according to the TEK.

They are fully aligned with the Texas TEKS. I do not know enough about the common core to answer your question. I tried to include the topics covered on the quizzes. If you cover those topics in 4th grade math, then they should be pretty aligned, but they were not written using the common core standards.

On quiz 14 (question 1) the table needs to be adjusted - it talks about elephants and legs, but the table says tricycles and wheels.

Also, on #3, the point of rotation looks like it would be (5,6) , but the figure won't rotate back onto itself as it is right now.
On #8, one of the triangles is a right triangle and the other is not.

I have gone in and corrected #2, #3, and #8 on packet one. I apologize for my coordinates being off. As far as the rotation questions on packet 2 and the assessment. On packet 2 #4 the point of rotation is (5,6) and on my paper they are congruent figures and can rotate back on themselves. On the assessment I copied the exact same figure and then rotated in in microsoft word. I redid it to double check, and they are the same figures rotated. I am sorry that you had to cut and paste for your lessons, it was not my intent. I check and double check to avoid mistakes, but sometimes something slips by me. I apologize.

I mentioned that I do not have a 3rd nine weeks assessment. I wish I did, as I have many people buying my cumulative assessments, I guess I need to try to write one :) We actually use the STAAR practice #1 as our 3rd nine weeks assessment since we have covered all the curriculum at that time.

We are having a six week test in 2 weeks- our district makes it up so I don't know what it will look like--- it will be covering cooridinates, transformations, (+,-) fractions with like denominators, changing decimals to fractions and frac. to dec.,area, perimeter, prime, composite and problem solv(+,-,x,/), and customary conversions
I am just a little stressed because I am afraid the kids forgot everything we taught them before Christmas- we have been off since Dec. 20th and go back tomorrow- have 7 teaching days until the test- ugh!
I have purchased everything you have out there-Rev. Quizzes 1-22 and the STAAR Practice 1&2- along with the ones I already mentioned.
Can you post your 5th grade math benchmark that you give at the end of January? I would love to buy that-

I understand your stress level! :) I do not have the benchmark, as it is a district test. I am about to post something on coordinates and relationships in tables and equations, and I hope to post my sketching transformations this week. I am not finished with the 2nd practice yet. I have something under 4th grade that deals with concrete models of decimals where the students could practice changing fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions that might help you with extra practice. My fractions unit contains practices for adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators and prime and composite. I have not had the chance to get together my measurement materials, but it is on my to do list. I greatly appreciate your business. :)

I have some new 5th grade STAAR materials that I am working on that are TEK specific. For example, all the fraction work I have posted has been updated to include more rigor. I am working to get together some items on coordinates and sketching transformations where the students must do the sketching as the TEK states, as well as other little units that are TEK specific. I hope to get them posted soon. I do not have any more 9 weeks assessments as we give a district given benchmark at the end of January, and then we give the practice STAAR assessments I have written and posted as the 3rd nine weeks assessment since we have covered all the curriculum at that point, and because they are tested out......we do not give any cumulative tests the 4th nine weeks. What other materials might you be interested in, and I might be able to create some? Have you purchased the review quizzes as they are aligned and have been updated to include more rigor?

I appreciate your business, but at this time I do not have answer keys made. To be honest, I have never made answer keys because as a math facilitator I want my grade level teachers to work the problems prior to giving the quizzes so that they are aware of where the students might get stumped before they give the quiz, not after. When I created these quizzes, I did not know the TpT even existed, I was just trying to share a resource that I figured many teachers would appreciate. If life slows down a bit sometime (you know how that is in education), I might be able to create the answer keys, but that is 21 quizzes in 3 different grade levels for a total of 630 problems, which is just not a possibility right now. I felt that the price was pretty cheap for 5 high quality quizzes without an answer key and TEKS alignment. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this might cause you. I am making sure that all new postings will have answer keys attached.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
My husband and I have a combined total of 26 years of experience in education. I have 15 years education experience ranging from 1st - 5th grade in all subject areas, but my love is creating math materials for elementary school. I have been a math facilitator for the past 5 years at a Title I school in Texas where I have learned the importance of assessing students at the level of rigor needed to increase student achievement. Writing assessments is my expertise. My husband has been teaching high school Algebra, Algebra II, and PreCal for the past 13 years helping to increase Algebra scores from 40% to 80% in some sub population groups. We love the opportunity to share what we have created to help students be more successful.
