TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a recent college graduate. I completed a 15 week student teaching internship in which I taught Pre-K through 12th grade students with a mentor teacher and on my own. I have also taught private art lessons, worked with homeless youth as part of a service project, and taught an after school art program as an undergrad. I am currently teaching art and riding lessons at a summer horse camp.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Being an art educator, my teaching style is very hands on and visually based. I also place a great deal of importance and emphasis on literacy (visual as well as verbal) and cross-curricular connections.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

2011- Student Teaching Award based on my performance during my internship. 2010- Highest Honor Award based on performance in Art Education, Studio Art, and Art History awarded by my university. 2009- "Artworks" award based on my performance while working with and teaching students during an after school art program at my university.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA in Art Education with a minor in Art History, BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Painting.
