I really enjoyed all the different options of using this activity. The students loved the game and the winter theme. Sometimes I would put them on the board for a warm-up, especially the ones where answers could vary so the students could hear what others wrote. Thank you!

Can the cards be editable? I teach in a Special Ed. resource class and a co-teaching class and these games would be a great addition to my instruction. However, in order to address all levels of learning, I would have to add my owl levels of cards so that all learners would have the same "looking cards" to participate in the same game. So, before purchasing, could you let me know?

Thanks that does help. Can you tell me where you got the list of words to include? I need the 6th grade words, but also need to locate words for 7-8. Next year I will be teaching an hour of 6th, an hour of 7th, and an hour of 8th.

I am not sure what the problem is? I've never heard of that happening, as it is the same item that has been downloaded numerous times by previous buyers. Were there words on your screen when you went to print them? Also, did you extract them from the zipped folder? Are you out of black ink? Those are the only things I can think of. I just opened it from school computer as well, just to double check (not the computer I made them on), and it opened fine. If those things don't happen, I'll see if there is anything going on the TPT side of things by messaging them the issue. I apologize for the waste of paper and ink, but it is not coming from the product, so it may be a printer error or computer error, but again, I'll email a ticket to TPT.

Yes all standards are included. They are in original format, not the "I can" format. Each section is a different color border. Also you can get the combo of all math and ela for under six dollars if you get the bundle. I hope that helped. Thank you.

Thank you for your question. Since 5th graders are required to know how to write in opinion, informational, and narrative genres, I would suggest this pack: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/4th-5th-6th-common-core-writing-through-the-year-essentials-pack
It has graphic organizers, plus all of the writing prompts from the first writing prompts set. As far as choosing just a set, there are a variety of ranges in all the sets, so any set works well. However, since you will need all the writing formats, I'd suggest purchasing the sets that set either prompts set 1, set, 2, or set 3 (or the bundled set) rather than purchasing the ones that say just narrative, just opinion, etc.. I hope that makes sense. Thank you !

You open it as from a zipped file, and then one of the files says directions and it says how to insert the clip art into a word document. I hope that helps, if not let me know. First, you have to download and open the zipped file though.

Thank you for your inquiry. They are about 3 by 4 inches. The font can not be edited as it is a secured pdf file. There are blank cards though. Also, definitions are not included, but I have had students draw pictures on the blanks to represent the word. Thank you.

Thank you for your inquiry. You get 48 prompts, and approximately 16 of them as well as the reader/reteller card are in the guided reading binder. If you have the guided reading binder, some cards will be the same, but there will also be many new ones. I hope that helps!

I use them for my 5th grade class. I think they could work for 7th and 8th, because many are open ended (create math word problems with answers for a friend to solve, or an advertisement for a new invention). It just depends on the amount of rigor you want them to have when they finish their work. Thank you for your inquiry, and I hope my response helps!

I recently purchased this set and am anxious to use it. Would it be possible to get blanks of the picture cards so I can import my own pictures? I'd like to add on to this portion of the lesson. Also, I thought it was strange to include a picture of a dinosaur in food chains since they are extinct. Students still struggle with the misconception that man and dinosaur lived at the same time.

I understand your comment about the dinosaurs, but when I used the cards with my class, I did not necessarily use them all at once (so you could use the dinosaur card and not the human card for example- mix and match what is in your webs and chains). I would be glad to send you some blanks in a word document, just send me your email. Absolutely..I usually have preview for my work, and realize I do not for this one.. examples include: read a chapter from a library book or textbook, write a letter to a friend, draw a picture of a new invention, and then write a commercial for the new invention. There are lots more, and some blank ones. I taught 4th grade last year...I do feel these cards will work for both of those grades; I'd say they'd probably work for second-fifth. Thank you!

If you want to send me your email I can email you the individual files, because I am not sure if my instructions will help you. However, what I do is double click the zipped file and it will either automatically unzip or a prompt will come up to unzip the files. Basically, when I do it, it opens as a normal folder. However, if you have tried this and it is not working, I will gladly email the individual files to you :) Another option is right clicking on the file, and seeing if it says extract files..and open that way. Hope that works ! Thanks for your purchase.

Yes; browse my store (just click the owl or my username), and on one of the three pages there should be a 4th grade ELA and math common core pack with all of the 4th grade standards. It is cheaper to buy the combo pack. Hope this helps !

Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. They are set up to print one per page...but I just opened the file to check to see about printing 4 to a page, and was able to do so on my computer. I have the newest Adobe Reader (It's a Pdf file) and Windows system..so I don't know if your commands are different, but I know there is a way to do it on older systems. However, on my system..I just clicked print. The printer set-up page then automatically popped up and one sections said page sizing and handling. I clicked on the multiple pages button, and it is automatically configured in that section to be 2 by 2..so if you click that, it will print the first four pages on one page. I know that may be confusing, but basically it is just a regular pdf file, so you may want to play around with your print set-up settings to see if you see what I am describing. It's easier than I described. Sorry if I could not be of more help.
