A knowledge of what we have gained I think is important. So few teachers help students appreciate the benefits of what we have gained by giving them a bit of history. I like to ask students to do a bit of research on what a typewriter was like. They find it fascinating - and humorous! I even have an old one which they love trying out!

I've seen a further additional idea which you might like to try. Tracing the evolution of Nintendo's Mario over the years takes students through the history of graphics. He begins as a very low resolution blocky figure and ends up rendered in smooth many coloured 3D. This can be used as a research exercise.

Sorry, the sample is merely for the purpose of evaluating whether the style, standard and content will suit your purposes. The Sample stamp is designed to still allow the user to see the content, and is promoted by TPT in that way: "evaluate the quality of my work..."

Thanks for this tip...I took a look Katie. It's great to have a site like this for Oz but it has a distinct shortcoming for me - which seems easy to remedy - I am a secondary school HT of a Computing Faculty - the absence of any Computing/IT/ICT/Computer subject area - so there is nowhere to park my material. Best wishes...also the grades on the drop down refine search at left only go to fifth and then the 'More' only adds one more - a sixth!! I need to go to twelfth. Best wishes, David
