I purchased your New Friends activity packet, but it would not let me print out the pages. Has anyone else had this problem? I wanted to use it last week, with our stories that were going over the oi/oy sound, but couldn't.

So sorry you are having problems. I have not had anyone mention this problem. I looked up printing problems in the "help" section on TpT and found this:
Sometimes a PDF will look fine on your screen, but may not print out correctly (especially if the file is graphic-heavy).
Try this:
1. Open the file in Adobe Reader.
2. Click "Print" within the Adobe Reader application.
3. You can select "adjust to fit" if necessary.
4. Click "advanced."
5. Check the "print as image" box.
If this doen't work, let me know and we will figure something out.

HI Dawn. I was just printing some of the pages for the Unit 6 story 4, The Boat Disappears packet and found an error. On the section where they have to build a sentence telling how, where and when the bug flew, you have 2 cards for where and you do not have one for when. Some of my pages just show up as dark marks. I tried on my Mac and PC. I can give you the specific pages if you would llke. This also happened with Animal Groups, but I thought it was just my Mac, but now there are multiple pages that I can not use. Do you know what is causing this?

I love your literacy activities. They are saving me hours and hours and my kiddies are enjoying them. But, I was wondering if you considered adding an activity for the second word study skill for the week (this week it was s, es, ed, and ing endings). Hi Dawn, I've noticed that you have vcreated a lot of material for the "Journey's" reading program published by Houghton Mifflin, which is developed to meet the CCSS. I'm the language arts coordinator of our k-2 building and I'm wondering how you like the program.

As with all programs, there are things I like and things that I don't like about it. We are on our second year and it is much easier to use now that I have taught it a year. I really do like the selection of stories. There is no possible way you could teach everything that is with every story in one week which is what we spend on each story. I have to choose the skills that I want my class to work on for the week.

There are several things in this packet that would go with any study of animal groups. The specific spelling and vocabulary words are geared to go with the reading series. The center activities (long i and ghost letter digraphs) could be done when you are teaching those skills in any reading series.
