This is my nineteenth year of teaching First Grade. I have also taught full day Kindergarten.
I believe strongly in "time on task". I try to develop and utilize activities that require the whole class to be actively engaged in learning (using individual white boards, letter cards, signaling thumbs up/thumbs down, etc). I have been working most recently on creating classroom tools/activities that incorporate visual, auditory, and kinesthetic modalities. I am highly organized and I'm always seeking ways to better manage my classroom.
I was selected for inclusion in the 2004, 2005, and 2006 editions of Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I received a Masters of Education from Saint Francis University.
