VERY good test. I only had to tweak one or two questions to match where my students were and maybe change one or two words here and there. It was also very easy to break down and do a differentiated test.

Felt there should have been some explanation of terms at the onset (even if you have already discused in class). Incorporate pictures to explain terms (worth a lot of words) and reduce amount of type on 5th slide, make another slide or two.

I was very pleased with the Jeopardy game. I had never tried a Jeopardy game before in the classroom and this particular game worked very well for me. I used it in two regents chemistry classes where I was a long-term substitute at the end of the school year. I needed something to break up the monotony of review and the high school students enjoyed it.

Hi!
I just discovered your paper pets activity, and I am so excited to give it a whirl with my 7th graders this year. Our 7th grade unit is their 1st major contact with heredity as we prepare them for 9th grade biology. I plan to use the project in smaller chunks over the entire unit. My idea is that by the end we may have enough of these to use to create giant pedigrees. My question for you is...Is there a template for the pet? Yours is adorable with its generic lumpiness!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have over 15 years of experience as a middle school science teacher and high school biology teacher in Texas. I am also a science/biology university instructor. Middle school science in Texas is integrated. As a result, my materials cover a wide range of science topics.
MY TEACHING STYLE
Hands-on, creative, and interactive lessons are a must. Inquiry-based labs and stations-based activities are a classroom favorite. When it comes to science,however, the new vocabulary can be overwhelming to students. Opportunities for notes and review, clarifying important concepts and terms, are helpful to my students as well.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
I participated in marine biology research via an NSF grant, writing lesson plans for students that taught them about the work of the scientists.
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I have a BS and MS in Biology. I am a certified science teacher for grades 6-12 in the state of Texas.
