Hi Diana,
I don't remember the date I purchased it but when I log on to TPT site and click on this resource, it says "you own it" and I know I paid $4.95 for this and I go with "Otime" as my buyer name. Thanks, Timmi

I see your purchase order, back in October. One thing I would like you to try - go to "MY TPT" and look at your "Purchases". You can download it again. It is possible you downloaded it with the wrong program. If the PDF still doesn't work correctly, let me know. I will be here most of the day and can send it right away.

Hi Diana, I purchased "Canada's Native People" with 15 graphic organizers. I saved it in my PDF but when I'm trying to print it it's missing the writing part and I can only print the pictures but no words. Also, do you have an example of the answers to this package? Can you please email me the right package. You can respond me directly on otime30@hotmail.com. Thank you. Timmi

Judith M Darling - Razzle Dazzle Learning
Hi Diana, I was wondering if you are going to be at the TpT conference in Las Vegas. I am going and I thought it would be nice to meet. We lived in Alaska over 11 years and loved it. While there, I taught middle school social studies and language arts and part of my curriculum was Canadian history, so I integrated it into my language arts. I loved the unit and wouldn't mind sharing it with you, if you are interested.

My student's loved it! I just haven't got around to writing it up yet, but I will tell how it works. You can contact me at jmd.rdlco@gmail.com if you are interested. Sorry you can't make it to the conference. Maybe next year.

Judith, am afraid I won't be going - though it would be fun to meet people and attend the workshops. Maybe next year! Thanks for asking me - it would be nice to talk about teaching in the north - as the poet Robert Service said, "the north gets in your blood"! I would be happy to see the unit if you'd like to share - have you got it listed in your store?

Diana,
Anything that is INQUIRY based would be awesome! Informational text is also a wonderful asset to have included. I write curriculum materials myself, and have actually worked on previous social studies teaching guides, but I just don't have the time this year! My next unit of study is Canada's Interactions with the Global Community. If you want to chat further my email is teachingisagift@outlook.com. I am sure that any products you created for this curriculum would be very popular!

Diana,
Any chance you are going to make any resources for the revised Ontario social studies curriculum? I am looking for anything that will work with the NEW grade six expectations.

Yes! Is there any type of material you particularly like? I am open to suggestions - I do like writing informational text and creating research activities.

Diana,
I just love your Explorers to the Americas Posters! I'm putting it on my wish list for when my granddaughters learn about explorers. I like to buy and run off resources for their teachers. I will "pin" and "like" this resource.

Last year I made a poster on winter! Thinking of making more. Wish there were more hours in a day.

Enjoy your holiday,
Anne

Anne, thanks so much for your kind words! I had a lot of fun making them - I like all that explorer stuff (my degree is in history) and have found some fascinating stories about many of them - not all fit for kids, lol - I might write some informational texts in the new year with activities...you're right, not enough hours in the day! Have a great Christmas and New Year. Diana.

Hi Diana,
I love your Explorers to the Americas graphic organizers. Can you add a blank organizer so that teachers can add more explorers?

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught various subjects from grades 7 through 12. I have also taught adult ESL, which I also hold qualifications for. I am fully qualified to teach grades 1-12 in two Canadian provinces. Most of my experience has been teaching social sciences and more recently, ESL and ELD.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a communicative teacher, putting high emphasis on students achieving solid communication and analytical skills. My experience teaching ESL has opened me up to many new methods of teaching. I have taught classroom ESL as well as ELD and have also taught History in sheltered ESL classes. I also have experience teaching ESL at an adult level.
