It really depends on the year and the child. Some of my children are able to write more once their picture is finished because they add a lot of details to their drawings. It really just depends on the child. I have found this year that my kids that draw well seem to write more if their picture is drawn first. My kids who just want to get finished or who are stronger writers want to spend more time writing than drawing their pictures. I hope this helps.

There is a calendar for each month with an activity for the child to do. Each activity has a page in the packet for the child to complete. If you look at the picture you will see an example of the calendar and if you look under that you will see how it is set up with an activity to do on Monday and then and activity to complete on Tuesday. It has both math and reading activities in it. I hope this helps.

LOL I totally know what you mean, don't worry at all. Everyone gets three tokens to begin with. The children roll the three dice (you only roll the amount of dice that you have tokens in your hand. so if you only have two tokens you roll two dice, one token--one dice. If you have more than 3 tokens you still only roll 3 dice) Whatever the dice say on them is what you do. So if you roll a L, a dot, and a R -- you would pass one token to the Left (for L), Keep one token because the dot means that you keep it, and pass one token to the Right (for R) If you were to roll a C then you put a token in the center. you keep playing until there is only one person left with a token. The reason no one is ever out is because even if you lose all your tokens, the next time around the person to the right or left of you may roll a R or L and pass you one!! It is much easier to play than to explain, I promise. Does that makes a little more sense? If not, let me know and I can try and put it in pictures. It is a really fun game and the kids LOVE it.

It is really easy. You roll the dice. Whatever number is on the dice, go to that line of numbers and read them as fast as you can. The whole point is to build fluency with the numbers. I hope your kids enjoy!

Just wondering if you have the kids time themselves when they read the row or do they just roll the die and read what is in that row? How long do they work on this task at this center? If you want to have the children time themselves you could, but I do not think that it is a long enough line for it to be really worth it. I do have some that have 100 on them that the kids can time themselves, but they are more for the reading part. I never thought about doing the math, but I will have to work on that. In the beginning of the year, my children will do this as a center, but then later in the year it becomes the "fun" center they go to when they are done. I have many of these out such as roll the cvc words, roll the sentence etc. My kids love them and would stay at them for a long time if I let them. When they get bored they just switch out to another one. The best thing that I like about it, is that they are doing the short spurts and going fast. The repetition helps them feel confident.
