Truthfully, I'm not really all that active in TpT, so I'm not sure I even remember what I had in the Rogerian Argument PPT. I tend to revise and change them every time I use them.

And my PPTs tend to be more appropriate for college-level, because that's where I've taught the last 20+ years.

But to try to answer your question: In the past, I've used John Mayer's "Waitin' on the World to Change" with The Eagle's "It's Your World Now." The first represents the younger generation's feeling of powerlessness and their having to wait until their parents' generation "gets out of the way." The second represents the older generation's saying to their children, "We've done the best we can do. It's up to you to take over now." You could probably find both of those on YouTube. Another one that might fit with that subject is Marc Cohn's "Things We've Handed Down."

By the way, if you'll send me your email address, I'll just send you my most recent version of the Rogerian PPT. As I say, it's directed toward college students, but you can change and revise things to suit your own needs. You might need to change type fonts; I tend to use specialty fonts for titles and such.

Thanks for letting me know. Truthfully, I have no idea why they aren't readable. Maybe the type font I used. Although, if they were readable in the thumbnail, they should have been readable in the other. I've tried to delete and edit a couple of things over the years, without success, so I just let them sit there. I'm not really all that much into TpT. It's not really something I expect to make much money from. NONETHELESS, I'll look at it and see if there's anything I can do. Thanks again.

I have what I guess I would call a "non-answer" for you.

When I retired from my 20-year position at Greenville College in Illinois, I was the only one who still had a copy of the grading macros.

And, when I bought and downloaded Office 2007, that program destroyed the whole file that had the grading macros in it. I had saved it over onto a disk, but the new Office program wouldn't accept the saved information.

The reason is that, all those macros were saved into the normal.dot file on each of our computers. Apparently, Office 2007 won't let a person replace their normal.dot file with an older one. Or maybe it's just that I'm not enough of a Techie to know how to do it. At any rate, because that macro information has literally replaced the normal.dot file, it's easy to lose it--reburning your hard drive, installing new programs, etc.

Let me give you some suggestions:

1. Go into the Help function for either your MS Word program or for the Microsoft website itself. Look for "Creating Macros." My guess is that you'll be able to find instructions for your starting from scratch and creating your own. If they are similar to what I describe in my article, then you can use both as a guide.

2. If your University is interested, there's a program called "Turnitin.com" that has several helpful functions. One of them is the allow you to save highlighting and grading comments onto a clipboard. So, from one set of papers to another to another, if you want to mark "pronoun agreement," for example, you can just click on that item in your clipboard list, and it will pop up as a "comment balloon" icon on your student's paper. When the student runs his/her cursor over the balloon, the whole comment box pops up.

Turnitin also checks against many, many other sources and provides you with a "plagiarism" percentage. (Truthfully, I have not found that one to be very helpful.)

Hope this at least gives you a "next step."
