I have been teaching various students, various subjects, at various levels (preschool to college) for the last ten years. During those ten years, I have completed two masters programs, American Studies and Reading Education, and have received the honor of becoming National Board Certified. I am currently certified in Reading K-12, language arts 6-8, social studies 6-8 and even family and consumer studies. I experimented with being a literacy facilitator in an elementary school and now I am back home as a professional development facilitator in middle school. I am working toward the completion of my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction so, I may not always know what I am talking about but I try to find people who do. All the ideas I put on this site are research based and align with the new common core. Any corrections are always appreciated, ideas are solicited, and compliments are greatly rewarded.
“Looking at the past must only be a means of understanding more clearly what and who they are so that they can more wisely build the future.” ― Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed
