My third grade students enjoyed this and did not mind doing all the math problems. It was great for diff instruction because those that finished quickly could color the dinosaurs while the others did their math problems

I love this as a starting off point for guided reading! I have not had as much training as the other teachers since I'm new, and this will help me feel more confident. I'm worried a few of the 1st grade papers are too high for my first graders, but I can either adapt the worksheets to fit, or maybe they'll surprise me! Thank you SO much for all the work I'm sure you put into this awesome resource :-)

I hope the resource is helpful to you, and I really appreciate your kind comments! The resource is actually for 2nd through 5th graders, but a lot of first grade teachers are using it, and it seems to be working out for them just fine. I included the first grade pages for lower reading second graders. I do love it when one of my resources can work out for more grades than I originally thought could use it! If you would like another resource that is geared primarily toward first grade, you might check out "Guided Reading 101" by Deanna Jump here on TPT. That resource is totally for the younger kids, and would give you work sheets that I think you will really like.

First of all...thank you so much for your kind words! It's always nice to know other teachers like my resources!! As far as this particular resource is concerned, I think it would be difficult for first graders. However, it would depend on their overall reading level. If most of your students are reading above the first grade reading level, it would work. Otherwise, it may be too much for them. I hope this helps!

It was my total federal, state and local government lessons for third grade. It covers the three branches of government found on federal and state levels, as well as how local government works. I would say it all depends on what your state standards are. I hope that is helpful.

It's all one bundle. The reason I did it that way was to meet the various reading levels within any particular classroom. I know in my own classroom I often have four different reading levels. I wanted the resource to meet as many needs for a teacher as possible.

I wasn't going to offer another unit on goods and services, however I am planning on offering more units on economics such as opportunity cost, resources and the like. I can always add to the goods and services unit I have, what would you like to see included? In the summer I will be going through each of my resources and updating them as I see a need. It is a very good way to introduce second graders to carrying and borrowing. It makes the whole process very concrete. With older students who were confused with the process, I had to go back to the second grade "tens" to start to build understanding. In my opinion it is the perfect introduction, especially for second graders.

Actually it isn't a book. The cover of the lesson is something I made with the help of Jim Corcoran, an artist from Toledo, Ohio. It would be a good book though!
