I am curious as to why your calendar pattern only starts with one pumpkin versus two like your pattern of AABCCD would suggest it should have. I am a Montessori teacher and would love to use these calendar pieces in the future to help my children understand patterns, but feel the pattern beginning would be somewhat confusing for them.
November 4, 2012 Report inappropriate comment
Easy Peasy Primary Resources
Hi Thank you for the question. The reason that the pieces do not start with the pattern is that I am teaching my 2nd graders that sometimes the pattern is contained within the sequence. They need to learn to wait until the pattern starts repeating, before concluding that they have identified the pattern unit. I have gotten this question a couple of times. i am sorry if it is confusing. I always post resources after I have used/tested them on my own students so I sometimes forget that other teachers may use them in a different way! I don't know when I will have time, but at some point I will go back and change them. You can bet that from now on all the pieces I post to share will begin with the pattern at the onset!

Would you consider adding a card for the adverb. I am new to teaching. I am preparing for a mock lesson for a substitute teaching position. The mock lesson features the four parts of speech--noun, verb, adjective and adverb. Adverb added to your set would be perfect. I know I would have to pay extra. I don't have access to too many resources. I've checked stores and the web. Your cards are the best I've seen yet.

Thanks

Easy Peasy Primary Resources
Hi Nancy, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I too have been moved to 2nd grade from 1st and am happily setting up my classroom. We are now a "balanced literacy focus school" and my room is "model" classroom for the second grade. I am having such fun creating new things for my room. I have not had time to update my blog and am considering giving it up (if you have not, go and get the sight word princess and transformers games while you can). I spend most of my time creating for my classroom and for TpT and it's hard to find time to blog as well. Our balanced literacy will be based on Social Studies and Science rather than Open Court so we are headed in that direction. Sunny Days in Second Grade has a nice blog. I am in Sacramento, where are u? You can email me if you would like camccumber@gmail.com
Happy happy year in second to both of us!!

Hi Ruby! Sounds like a nice idea. Do you just mean the same thing in a smaller size? You can always choose the "multiple pages" option on your printer and print them out 2 or 4 to a page. That is what I do to make flashcard sized cards for some of my kids. Do you think this might work?

Love your sight word game boards. I know these will really give parents a way to practice in a fun way with their young students at home. Would it be possible to make the game boards in black and white? That way the kids could use colored pencils and lightly color in each box. I know when my kindergarten students have a hand in making a game, they seem to appreciate it and use it more. Also, would it be difficult to make a blank black and white one which is editable so that teachers could type in words already studied? Thanks so much. Joyce Wells

Thank you for your interest and suggestions. As far as making the gameboards black and white, that is not something that I am able to do at this point (in all honesty I am still learning how to create on my computer and do not yet have that skill. In addition, since I make my resources on a Mac rather than Windows/word I do not know if there is a way to make items editable, as they are posted as PDF's. I will look into all of your suggestions, and keep them in mind when I find the time to continue on with the Take Home Sight Word Board Games (I currently have #1-3 and am hoping to add several more at some point). Hopefully by then I will have learned more and be able to make changes in the future.

Hi Sarah, I usually make my products free for a limited time so that people can leave feedback on them and as a "thank you" to my followers. I am different from most sellers as I choose to replace freebies with new ones (the old ones go in my store). That way followers are able to download many more resources from me than just one or two that I would keep up otherwise. Hopefully, you still have the m&m file that you downloaded. Thank you for letting me know. School is out in 4 days (not like I'm counting or anything) and I will have time to make some changes to some of my resources. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know.

Starbright1 re: Kindergarten Classroom Start-Up Pack (Teddy Bear Theme)
This is cute! Are the left hand and right hands in the correct spot? I usually put a right hand print on the bring right back and left hand print on Leave at home- Maybe you have the thumbs pointing to the left or right- It just confused me. Let me know if you change them please- because it would save me a lot of time not having to write on everyone's folders. You are very talented & appreciated! Have a great summer!

Nanci,
Yes, thank you. I chose the handprints for their pretty color rather than their practicality (the regular hands looked boring!). I will be changing them when I get home from school today. Please check back tonight. Thank you for the suggestion.

At one time i thought you had a free activity called.....Pizza Problems. It covered odd and even, Pizza Delivery and doubles plus 10. Is there a way to still get that free?

I'm sorry, I usually put my products up for free for a short time before they are priced. I just took down my m&m math unit and replaced it with "Wizards, Words and Magic e" resource today. Keep checking though as I tend to have new products quiet frequently and you can get them free in the beginning. I suggest "following" my store so that you can be notified as soon as the new resources are posted, or check back frequently. Thank you for your interest.

I haven't purchased it yet, but on your preview image, "thumbnail 3", it shows the Olympic loonie. The bird is taking off, flapping its wings, and the Olympic rings are on the right side of the loon. You can see the coin which is more familiar to us Canadians if you Google "loonie" and click on images (sorry - I'm not sure how to attach that image in these comments). I hope that helps!

Ok NOW I get it. I changed the loonie on my product months ago, but I guess I was too lazy to change the page on the preview! Thank you so much to your attention to detail! Pls send me your email address so that I can send you the product for free for your help. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time!

In the Monkeying Around - Cdn version, the "loonie" or one dollar coin you are using is a special edition Olympic-year loonie. Most children would better recognize the traditional loonie coin, which shows a loon swimming peacefully on a lake with a small island in the background.

Thank you much for the feedback! I'm so confused! I made the Canadian version on request and to my (American) eyes can't see the difference between the one on the product and the one on the internet. I did change it though, and if you purchased you should be able to download the revised version for free. I would REALLY, REALLY appreciate it, if you do redownload if you could give me feedback on the loonie I changed it to. Thank you again so much!

jbrimner re: Pizza Problems (CANADIAN Version) 3 Engaging Math Activities
Hi there, I am looking at your "Pizza Problems - CND version" and was wondering if there are a lot of English words on the games and activities? I teach Grade One French Immersion and would really benefit from your resources, as long as the English is limited and could easily be translated.

Hi! Thanks for your interest. No, not a lot of english words except in the directions which I'm sure you can easily explain in French. If it would be helpful, send me your email and I will send you a couple of screen shots of some of the pages.

Just wanted to let you know that the "77" on the place value card shows 8 tens...it just happened to be the card I pulled out to demo the game to the class haha.. I'm sure they'll inform me if they find any others...just thought you wanted to know. :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know (one of the reasons I love to offer my products as freebies for a while -- extra eyes!). I'm glad you were able to get use out of the resource. We had "M is for m&m" day and all I could find was graphing activities. Thanks again, and I'll change that as soon as I get home. Pls let me know if you spot any other boo-boos!

I was just looking at yourmonkeying around with money canadian style - the loonie (dollar) that you are using is NOT a replica of real Canadian money.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I rely on my Canadian husband to proofread for me! I looked it up on wikipedia and asked another Canadian friend and they cannot see any problem. I would very much appreciate more information from you, or if you could direct me to where I would get the information. I do appreciate you taking the time to let me know!
