I am not sure if this was a problem particular to me, but the map I see is not as clear as necessary; a shame because potentially this map would offer a more valuable resource for students interested in cartography along with literature

Sorry to hear that it wasn't clear. I just downloaded it from the TPT site and it looked clear on my computer (and the commenter below didn't mention anything about quality / clarity). I zoomed a couple of times and there was no loss of quality even with the smallest names. (At the risk of sounding patronizing, is there any chance you downloaded the thumbnail by accident? You can't find a better handout for the price. The only thing I would change about the outline was to leave a little more space for student notes, but that's nothing that couldn't be easily added in. I can see why the spacing was kept as-is to keep the handout to one front-and-back page.

Though I didn't end up using this prompt (I'm merely a student-teacher who is preparing mock activities for a class's final assignment), I do like that the as a final assessment students are left with open-ended and interpretative prompts for them to explore their own interests. Dante is difficult, and to allow students options to choose from for a final assignment widens the range for students to pick a prompt they feel comfortable with, and of which they have a deeper understanding than others. Kudos.

I figured that out a few years ago, and have been doing it since. If students are interested in what they're doing, they're more likely to do a good job with it, so I say let them be interested. Better to see what they can do than force them to do a specific assignment. Thanks again. Ed

I appreciate the compliment. I would just add two things: 1. the lecture notes are more for the teacher to round out their knowledge of the text, to maximize their ability to answer the unexpected questions; topics covered in the lecture notes can be used directly with students at the teacher's discretion; and 2. I would be careful about extrapolating your average 11th grader to others'; I would never suggest for whom or for which classes the notes are best (one of the reasons why my grade ranges tend to be wide) but if they're too advanced for your 11th graders, that doesn't necessarily mean they're too advanced for other 11th graders. I appreciate the feedback.

This is for my 8th graders who will be introduced to Latin this fall. I needed very simple material as Latin is just for the first quarter. A coloring book with phrases is perfect. Various nouns and verbs lead to the roots that can be described and explained at a beginner's intro level. I think they will enjoy the sketches a lot as I am at a school of the arts.
