My Teaching Experience

I have worked in schools either as a middle school teacher, high school teacher, or administrator for thirty years. Most of my experience has been in high school English classrooms. I have taught everything from ninth-grade literature to students with major reading problems all the way to my current assignment as an AP English Language and Composition teacher.

My Teaching Style

I like to have fun in the classroom, and I want my students to enjoy reading and writing. I also realize however that we must have high standards for ourselves and high standards for our students. I believe in providing extensive opportunities for students to read, write, and share their work with their peers. I am also traditional in that I believe students must read works carefully and that their writing must exhibit correct use of standard written English.
